"Come in!"
Bryan opened the door and greeted Michael. "Hey Michael! How are you?" He smiled brightly (a little too brightly in Michael's eyes) and shifted a bit. His eyes kept darting around the room as he stood there hands clasped together in front of him.
Michael raised an eyebrow. He may have only known this Bryan for a day but he was acting weird. "Good... Are you okay? You're acting... odd."
"Pssh, wha- no no I'm fine!" He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Well have you been awake long?"
"About an hour." He lied smoothly.
"You know you don't have to stay here? You could have left. Your room I mean."
Michael shrugged.
"W-well anyway, we wanted to uh, ask you a few questions..."
Michael stood sliding the notebook into his pocket. "Sure I guess. Where we meeting?"
Bryan relaxed slightly. "Foxy's area. We're gonna sit on the pirate ship!" Michael scrunched up his nose. "Something wrong with that?"
"It's nothing. Athena and Poseidon don't get along is all. It's not attached to the ocean though so it's fine. Not that I think he'd do anything but yeah."
The two chatted about different godly feuds as they made their way to the ship. Michael was relieved that he didn't seem to notice Aegis although it made him wonder how powerful the mist actually was. Arriving Michael felt the hair on the back of his neck shoot up. He stopped before stepping onto the dock. Bryan stopped as well.
"Michael? Is something wrong?"
He glared at the CEO. "What are you trying to pull?"
"W-what?" Bryan looked taken aback. "What are you talking about?"
Michael took a few steps back. "I know a trap when I see one." He pointed at the ship. "And this? This screams ambush. So I'll ask again. What are you trying to pull?"
"I promise you there's no trap!" Bryan seemed so confused that Michael was actually inclined to believe him. But he couldn't ignore his instincts either. He lunged and caught Bryan's arm. "Hey, what are you-!?"
He pulled Bryan back. "This way!" Bryan let himself be pulled along as Michael took them just outside of Foxy's area. "Something isn't right there." He hesitated before locking eyes with Bryan. "Can you promise me you didn't set up any kind of trap? You or your animatronics?"
"Yeah, we would never do that!" Bryan crossed his arms. "What are you talking bout? What makes you so sure it's a trap."
Michael closed his eyes and thought back to them walking to the docks. What had kicked in his instincts? He played through the events that his subconscious had noticed. "The emptiness of the place first of all. When did you set up this as the meeting place?"
"Well... Earlier when I arrived. I met up with Freddy, Ballora, Baby, and Foxy. We came up with the ship because... Not important why but yeah. It was this morning. Why?"
"Don't you think they would have already been there? They knew we were coming so why would they not be waiting? And if they were, way was it so quiet?"
"You've got a point..." Bryan admitted.
"Also there was a lack of birds. It was too quiet. It means that there was someone there, or at least someone there recently. And if it was one of the animatronics why would they hide?" Michael shook his head. "It doesn't make sense."
Bryan looked both impressed and frustrated. "Okay, so what does that mean?"
Michael ignored him. "At least it wouldn't make sense for your animatronics to hide. The Twisted animatronics however..."
