Ria

I rang the door once, just hoping no one would answer and I can go back home.

"So what are you going to tell him?" Zach asked beside me. The question I didn't even know an answer to.

"I was upset, and we went to lunch- simple," I shrugged, obviously there was more to it, but nothing really happened.

"That's it?" He smirked and I glared at him.

"Yes? Is there something you need to add?" I snapped and he leaned in where he was invading my personal bubble.

His mouth was touching the tip of my ear, "I think you know the answer to that," he whispered and didn't bother backing away when the door finally opened.

"Ria, where have you-" I elbowed Zach to get away from me as my boyfriend stood right in front if me with his eyebrows scrunched, "you were with him?" Preston pointed and all this guilt rushed to me and I began to get sick.

Mentally and psychically.

"Well hello to you too, brother," Zach said cheery.

Guess their roles have switched.

"Yeah... I was upset by just- everything, and Zach offered lunch and I obliged, just wanting to get away from the graveyard," I said, feeling even worse, especially when Zach bad a look on his face like he was purely enjoying himself.

"Yep bro, just wanted to comfort your girl here since no one-" I kicked his leg as he winced. I can't believe he has the nerve to say something like that, "just kidding, she was upset and I was hungry, so I asked if she wanted lunch and yeah," Zach said through his teeth.

That didn't help make the look of suspicion on Pres's face go away. He just opened the door wider, allowing us to come in.

There was still and awkward silence, filled with background laughter and talk, "I'm gonna take this as my cue to leave," Zach says as he left me and Preston alone.

"I put your bags upstairs," Pres said and I smiled.

"Thanks," I said awkwardly, "wanna show me?" I ask, not catching on that could have a double meaning...

"Sure."

We walked around the capacious house and up the long, escalating stairs, "This house is huge," I say as I take it all in.

"It's Zach's dad's beach home," Preston says, still with a bitter tone.

We finally stop at a room with a grand, mahogany door. Stepping inside, there was a king-sized bed right in the middle.

"Wow, this is pretty-" I was cut off by Preston crashing his lips on mine.

I responded by, kissing back...

I broke it off, confused as to why he did that, "sorry... I just had to do that," he said and I laugh, "I'm sorry for overreacting to earlier- just seeing you with him makes me angry and the fact that you disappeared with him for a whole afternoon!" He says more frustrated.

"I was upset, it was like being at my parents funeral all over again and I was just feeling weird and Zach offered lunch and honestly I would've gone to lunch with anyone just to get out of there," I said and he nods, understanding.

"I should've followed, I just thought you would want your space," he says and a part of me wished he did follow me. The one time I needed him, but a small part of me was happy that Zach was there.

"No, I've been putting on a cold front towards you lately and so I understand why you didn't want to follow," I smiled and he places his hands on my waist, kissing me again.
