Chapter 2 || Gravity Falls

__Chara's POV__

I held Frisk's hand , I hope she couldn't tell that my hand was trembling. I didn't want her to see me scared and at my weakest. I was actually scared of the people living here to be frightened of me. Sure I am half-ghost, but I can still fly, get black goo on my eyes and face, do jump scares, and stab everyone. At least I'm part human, ghost and demon. Awesome. Part human because Frisk and I share a soul. That soul therefore making me regain a bit my humanity, which is how she stopped the genocide run.  I still use my knife as self-defense, and to scare people for fun. It was hidden in a special pocket attached to my shorts. I can still turn crazy though, but Frisk helps me avoid that. 

"Gravity Falls." Frisk reads a gigantic sign. "Must be a city." 

"Hey , Frisk, what happens if we meet people there?" I asked out of curiosity. "I'll pretend to be mute, for the people that we meet, and you'll just have to hide, in case they see ghosts. If we make friends, the more we know about them and our little alliance, we can drop it off." She explained. 

We enter the town and I start to disappear from the townsfolk's eyes. I hide either behind garbage , trees, or buildings, trying to be as close to Frisk. 

" Oh look, a shack." I say, pointing to a shack with the words "Mystery Shack"on the roof, there were tourist around it , so I guess it was some kind of attraction. I followed  Frisk who went in the crowd . It was hard to find her so I went up as high in the air. 

"GHOOOOOOST!"

Oh damn it Chara.

A boy looked at me with binoculars on his eyes. He saw me from the window of the shack. The crowd looked into my direction , scared, I braced the consequences.

"I don't see anything."

"Me neither."

They didn't see me! But then that kid who did must be the only one who does. I lowered and flew to a tree and went up to its branches so the incident wouldn't happen again. As for Frisk, I waited for her. She came out, and tried to find me . I flew to her and told her what happened. 

" I have gathered information Chara. this is the Mystery Shack, the most visited place in this town. The boy who saw you must live in there, since the tourists only see the ground floor."

I nodded. "What now?" I ask her. "Maybe...We can explore the forest? There might be some nice buttercups around." I agreed and we went to the forest when an old man ran to us.

"Hey kid! You visited the Shack! Now pay!" He handed out his hand. I wanted to scare him, but Frisk whispered no. She payed him some gold and we went off, with the old man amazed by the gold he had in his hands. 

~Timeskip~ 

We had found a big place full with Buttercups. Reminded me of home. I fell on it and smothered it with my face.

"Heh. Classic Chara. Be careful not to eat them. " Frisk said, laughing. I laughed along too. Soon , we were a ox full of laughter , then, Frisk lied down beside me.

"The sun, haven't seen it in a long time." Frisk says. I agree to her words. We silently looked at the sun, until we both fell asleep.

...

"Wake up!"

" Hey! wake up!"

I hear a voice. A girl's . Out of curiosity I wake up, the girl was in front of Frisk. She looked like the boy who shouted ghost earlier. She wore a pink sweater with a shooting star on it. She smiled at her.

"Hi! I'm Mabel! What are you doing sleeping here?" Frisk tried to do sign language to communicate. 

"I'm sorry but I don't know sign language. Maybe write it on this leaf! " She says, getting a pen and takes the leaf. She hands it to Frisk.

Nice to meet you Mabel. My name is Frisk. I was sleeping here because , why not? Nature is beautiful after all, we must learn to embrace it.

"Neat! But maybe best not to sleep here. Buttercups are poisonous, you might sleep-eat them."

I know. But they're very special to me.

What she wrote melted my heart. It reminded me of when I was with Asriel, picking them up, and laughing together. What a pain he's gone.

"You wanna be friends?"

Ok, that went to fast lady.

Sure, let's take time to know each other. Would you like to play in the forest with me? 

"Of course new bestie!" Mabel says, exited. "Oh and are you a girl? I think you're a girl, because of your hair." 

Frisk nodded, because there wasn't space on the leaf anymore.

"Nice! Nice to meet you Frisk! Oh let me introduce you to Dipper! He's my twin! I don't want him left out on this!"

I followed the two, not hiding anymore since no one can see me except for the boy. We went to the Mystery Shack.

And that's when I realized.

Mabel's brother is the one who saw me this morning.
