Chapter 12 || Hope to despair

__Frisk's POV__

We were on the rooftop throwing fireworks into the sky. Mabel was destroying everything, calling herself the god of destruction. Chara proved her wrong by making a tree fall somewhere in the forest and crush some gnomes.

After , we stopped and extinguished the flames with water balloons.

Here , I felt at home in Gravity Falls, but I knew my place was in Undertale. But, the people here...let us stay , besides little creatures wandering around, this is a perfect place to be in , maybe , when we break the barrier with the others , this is how life will be like. I dearly hope so.

Chara seemed to like this place , especially Dipper, since a few days ago , when they were missing , and came back home, they grew closer.

Could they be?

Frisk , you can't just affirm that because they were gone.

But, maybe they did-

"Hey Frisk!" Chara spoke out. I turn to  her direction. " Why not show these people how we do balloon fights  in the underground!" I nod. Chara then turns the place into a battlefield  , and the twins and their grunkle were filled with confidence to beat the crap out of Chara.

" Kid, I've learned to fight and so are these kiddos. Not a demon can stop us!" 

Yes , their grunkle knew about Chara and I . Well partly. He knew that she had powers , and a half demon , ghost , and human. He didn't know we came from another dimension. We told him because who knows how long we're going to stay in Gravity Falls. 

" You may be the god of destruction , but Mabel can still overthrow you!!!!" 

" Mabel , please don't hurt Chara." 

" Dipper! She's already dead!"

" Oh." 

Chara then turned into her demonic form and was ready to beat them, but then Grunkle Stan punch her straight in the face. She collapsed on the floor, which wasn't normal. Grunkle Stan must've hit her hard. The black goo started to cover her face. Dipper ran to her and so were we.

" Oh shoot kid , didn't mean to hit you that hard, are you okay?" Grunkle Stan apologized. Chara covered her face and went back to the shack , possibly to get an ice pack. Dipper, worried followed her. Mabel started to clean up the place, with all the water balloons around. I decided to help.

A few minutes later, Dipper came back and said Chara's not going outside for a while. He helped us right after. Once we were done , Stan wanted to tell them something. I figured it was family stuff so I left and went inside the shack. I went to the bedroom and saw Chara. She had a towel and a chocolate bar on her lap. The towel was covered with blood. Human blood. I sat next to her.

" Are you okay?"

Chara was still covering her face with her hands.

" It can't be that bad." I took off her hands and saw a huge  bruise on her cheek and under her eyes. the one on her cheek was bleeding , and the one under her was on the verge to. ( That's true , bruises can bleed) 

" It hurts." She said.

" Let's get some bandages and disinfectant." I tell her . She nods . I leave the room and come back with what I needed. I bandaged her and helped with the scratches.

" Thanks Frisk." She said , eating the chocolate bar. 

We were about to leave, but then something caught my eye. OUR eyes. It was Dipper's book thing. I never was interested in it , but then I wondered, how do the twins know about the creatures living in this world. The journal might have the answers to that. We opened it ,and saw that it was some kind of encyclopedia tot he creatures and things in Gravity Falls. We earn soon enough that Dipper wrote in the book too. Chara started to giggle at the sight of his handwriting. 

But a particular page there was, a page about the author taking about a machine, and he soon discovers its a portal to travel dimensions . After seeing this, Chara looked at me with sparkles in her eyes. 

" Frisk , if there's a portal , do you know what this means?" 

" Yes Chara, we get to finally go back home!" I exclaim. We drop the book and hug excitedly. We left the shack in excitement , ready to find where's this portal is. It said it was in the city, so it can't be that hard, but Dipper, and Mabel... We can't just ditch them.

That's when a black car arrived and explained the kids that Grunkle Stan stole something . Chemicals it seems. Me and Chara watched the twins watch in shock as their grunkle gets arrested. Another man approached and told us to follow him , we obeyed and left the place and entered the car.

Inside , I was sitting beside Mabel and tried to cheer her up. Dipper , however was frustrated. Chara didn't even try to help, which made me a bit mad. So I had to cheer both of them. Then Mabel got an idea. She was able to make the car go off the road and escape. Back to the shack we entered stealthily with Mabel's grappling hook. Once we were in , I realized we were in the attic . Dipper and Mabel found tapes , and we watched what it contained. We soon saw that Stan was very well the one who stole the chemicals. It got even worse when Chara found a box with fake IDs and passports. There was this newspaper Dipper found and it said 'Stan pines dead' . We got a chill on our spines reading this ,and I'm starting to wonder if Stan really is a good guy.

We soon heard noises downstairs. Chara took a look and told us the guards left. We went down and met Soos who was guarding a vending machine. Dipper explained that they needed to for something and Soos let his guard down. Dipper typed the code and we watched in amazement as we descended the stairs that were hidden in the vending machine. We eventually saw a ginormous portal , the one that we saw in the book. me and Chara got exited and  were about to go run for it until Soos stopped us. 

"Dudes, there's a countdown. Wonder what it's for."

"Surely for something bad." Dipper replied.

"Or for something good." Chara talked back.

"What?" He said.

"You can't just jump into conclusions like that Dipper." Chara faced him off. She's turning just like me , always want to prove people wrong when it has to do with bad things. 

Soon they were having a fight. Mabel eventually chose Chara's side , and as much as Dipper insisted, me and Soos didn't choose a team at all. But then , the countdown was close to ending. We all started to float , and as things got worse, Dipper and Chara started to fight. Like , physically even though they were floating. Grunkle Stan came in , explaining something , but Dipper charged in and punched his stomach. Chara screamed of anger. Mabel was near the button. Dipper, seeing his sister , told him her to press the button. Mabel didn't know what to do , Chara, dipper ,and Stan were shouting at her , telling to either press it or not.

So Mabel left the button alone , much to Dipper's dismay.

A light shone out of the portal . Then it exploded, but only inside the hidden bunker.

I looked at Chara and her face was filled with despair. 

The hope.

The hope to leave Gravity Falls and return home.

Home.

Gravity Falls was nice , but everyone misses their home.

And the way to leave this dimension was gone.

Forever.

This had a huge impact on Chara.

"Mom...Dad...Azzy."

"I was too determined."
