Anjali POV

Sid was already waiting for me when we arrived at the car park. I could see that he was a little irritated because I was coming with Vicky. He didn't know him personally but I had already told him about him.

"Hi sweetheart."
I approached and kissed him on the cheek.

"Hello Darling."

He looked at Vicky who also looked back at him. I saw that he was still standing away and asked him to come.

"Vicky come here. Sid. Do you remember when I told you about my best friend who had left for one year to work in London. And here he is now. This is Vicky Mehra. He came back today. And Vicky, this is Siddarth Malhotra. My love."

I looked at Siddarth and gave him a side hug. Both looked at each other. Then Sid started to smile and shook hands with him.

"Hello Vicky. Nice to meet you finally. Anjali told me a lot about you."

"I only hope she said good things about me. However, she had not mentioned you at all." Vicky said and turned his head to me, gaving me a sharp look.

I can't believe it. He was still angry about it.

"Oh Vicky. How many times am I supposed to apologize to you?"

I looked at him pleadingly and held on to my ears.

"Hey guys, I don't know what it is about but I don't think it's a good Idea to argue it here. Come on, let's go to the café and forget about it." Sid said and looked at us.

I looked over at Vicky and nodded my head to start moving. At first he was annoyed but then he let go and came along. The sun was still shining and it wasn't even that cold. So we decided to take a seat outside and ordered something to drink. After a while Siddarth started to speak. He tried to have a conversation with Vicky and asked about how it was in London. Vicky answered him and the two started talking. I was glad. My boyfriend and my best friend sat there and chatted. I thought both of them would get along well and that Vicky had surely forgotten his anger over me. I put my head on my hand and looked over at Vicky who was still happily talking to Sid. He noticed that I was watching him and looked briefly over at me. I smiled at him and silently moved my lips to a "Thank you". At first he was a little taken aback but then his sweet dimples appeared. He smiled back and just nodded. Then I looked at Siddarth. His posture and facial expression suddenly changed. He drank his coffee and pulled on his cigarette. He noticed me and gave me a smile. But that smile was different. Somehow it didn't really come across. It was more like he was just faking it.

Slowly it was getting late and we made our way to the cars. Sid and I said goodbye to Vicky. The two men shook hands and I gave Vicky a warm hug.

"Thank you for today. I was very happy that you came with me."

"You don't need to thank me, little one." He whispered in my ear.

I released the hug and he got into his red convertible, closed the top/hood and drove off. I waved behind when Sid said:

"Come on, let's go to the car. I'll drive you home."

"Okay."

We went to his silver Mercedes and got in. The whole drive over I thought how nice the day was. Only one thing bothered me.

"Anjali, are you listening to me?" Sid asked.

"Oh, I am sorry. Did you say something?"
