The burdens we bear (Naruto fanfic)

Chapter 9: Running Up Trees.

"Alright, Training starts now!" Kakashi Sensei tells us leaning on a crotch.

"Right!" Naruto says. We were surrounded by tall trees so I'm guessing we're gonna climb them.

"We will begin with the review of chakra, the ninja's basic source of powers, Understanding chakra and how it works is essential," He explains.

"We already know that." Sasuke sighs with his hands in his pockets.

"He's right! A long time ago, we learnt about catra!" Naruto exclaimed making me facepalm.

"Oh Naruto......" I trailed off, I just couldn't seem to find the words at the moment.

"It's chakra," Kakashi corrects him making Naruto sweatdrop."Go ahead Sakura."

If you actually thought that I was gonna pay attention to whatever she was saying, then you're as clueless as Naruto. Kakashi started to talk also but again, couldn't be bothered.

"Climb a tree!" The rest of my team shouted causing me to listen again.

"Hmmm. I knew it." I mumbled.

"One thing, with no hands." Kakashi informs us.

"What! You're kidding" Sakura cried.

"Am I? Well, lets see." Kakashi says placing his hands together.

He walks over to a tree and slowly began to walk vertically up the tree.

"Wow! He's climbing!" Naruto shouted in amusement.

"Straight up too!" Sakura adds.

"We can all see that." I said pointing at him. He suddenly stops upside down on a branch.

"Well you get the idea." He says still hanging,"Focus your chakra to the soles of your feet, and then use it to connect to the tree. This is just one way to apply the power of chakra."

I already knew how to do all these stuff but everyone else, definitely needs help, so I didn't protest.

"Wait a minute!" Sakura says,"That's a nice trick, but how does that help us fight Zabuza?"

Why can't she be quiet for one second?

"It will be the only way to defeat him Sakura. You will have to draw precise amount of chakra to a precise part of your body. This is difficult, even for advanced ninja. It's all about learning chakra control! Are you getting the picture? Learn that and you'll be able to master any Jutsu!" Kakashi says,"Well, theoretically anyway." He adds sweatdropping.

"Another thing-" I stop him midway.

"Yeah yeah. We get it. Lets just climb the stupid tree already." I said fed up with all the talking.

I casually walked up the tree without a care in the world. I reached the top of the tree and sat on the branch and everyone looked at me surprised, not that I cared. Kakashi threw three kunai down for them to mark the highest point they reached.

"I'm more than ready!" Naruto shouted,"This will be a piece of cake believe it! Remember that you said I'm that's grown the most Sensei!"

"You're definitely the one that talks the most as well." Kakashi mutters.

It took them long to try to get the chakra at their feet.

"Chaaaaaaaaaaaaarge!" Naruto screamed as all of them ran up the tree. Naruto ran two steps and fell back down on his back and Sasuke ran a few meters more and sliced it with the kunai and did a backflip off the tree.

"Well, that's what I expected from Sasuke...........and Naruto." Kakashi says making me laugh.

"Hey this is fun!" Sakura giggles and I across at another tree and she sat on a branch, like about twenty meters up but still lower than mine. I didn't notice how high up I was until now and it was weird how I still could hear everyone clearly. Sasuke and Naruto were shocked and a little annoyed.

"Looks like our two girl squad members have the most chakra control." Kakashi Sensei said,"Well done both of you!" Making me shrug and Sakura stick he tongue out.

"Yeah, way to go Sakura. I always knew you were awesome. Believe it!" Naruto yells.

"I'm up here two you know." I said teasingly.

"Whatever." Sasuke mumbles wiping the bright smile right off of Sakura's face.

"Well, not only does Sakura understand chakra, she can also control and maintain it too." Kakashi Sensei says with a smile and then looks at Naruto,"We did speak about someone becoming Hokage someday, didn't we? Seems like Sakura and Yui's got a better chance of that... Wouldn't you say Naruto?"

Naruto glared at our Sensei and then Kakashi turned to Sasuke.

"And as for the Uchiha Clan, maybe they're not so great after all." He said with a sigh, making Sasuke growl,"Seems you're all just talk Sasuke."

"That's enough!" Sakura shouts, pointing at Kakashi Sensei,"You talk to much Sensei."

"Sure, He..Talks..To .. Much?" I asked slowly looking at Sakura, making her roll her eyes.

"Alright! First I'll match Sasuke, then I'm going all the way to the top." Naruto says confidently.

I sensed someone familair. It was that brat, Inari, from earlier. He watched us for a while and turned away. I have no idea what is that kid's problem.

I looked up at the sky while the cool breeze gently hit my face. Definitely the best time to take a nap. I made myself comfortable and dozed off.
