Maddi turned in her bed and wanted to sleep some more. Then she realized, she was in Leo's house. She totally forgot. She got up and got ready. Mrs. Davis already had a pair of clothes out for her.

Maddi could smell a delicious breakfast cooking in the kitchen. After she changed, she went out and saw Mr. Davis watching the sports channel as he ate and Mrs. Davis putting down a plate on the table for Maddi.

"Good morning, Maddi," Mrs. Davis said kindly, "Sit down and eat. I made omelets and toast."

"Thanks, Mrs. Davis." Maddi said as she sat down. "How's the game, Mr. Davis?" she said as she turned to him.

"Not so good," he said, shaking his head, "but don't worry, they'll get them back."

Maddi took a bite of her omelet and wondered where Leo was.

"Where's Leo?" she asked.

"Probably still in bed. That boy always stays up so late." she said as she sat down and started eating. "So how's your mom been, Maddi?"

"She doing good."

"How do you like homeschooling?"

"It's alright. I like it."

"Homeschooling's good for some people. Especially if you want to travel places or anything."

"Yes, that's true." Then Maddi remembered that they were leaving in a few weeks. Time went by so fast. "So you're moving to Florida in a few weeks?" she asked.

"Yes. Leo told you?"

"Yes, ma'am. So, do you think you'll visit?" Maddi asked, feeling sad at the thought that her and Leo would be separated.

"Maybe..." Mrs. Davis went next to her with a smile and started whispering, "Leo told me about you."

Maddi was a little surprised. "H-he did?"

"Yes. He really likes you, Maddi."

Maddi looked down and smiled.

"Has he asked you yet?" Mrs. Davis asked.

Maddi knew what she was talking about. She wanted to know if Leo asked her to be his girlfriend yet.

"Well, actually-"

Leo walked in, yawning. Then he saw Maddi and smiled. He went and sat next to her. "What's for breakfast, mom?"

Mrs. Davis stood up and got him a plate of food, pretending her and Maddi didn't talk about him. "Omelets and toast." she said as she laid his plate in front of him.

Maddi was already done eating and put her plate in the sink.

Leo couldn't keep his eyes off her, then his mom gave him a teasing look. He smiled back, feeling a little embarrassed. Maddi sat down next to him.

Leo stopped eating, took a deep breath, and stood up.

"Mom, Dad, I need to tell you something."

His dad looked at him, wishing he could finish watching the game. "What is it, son?"

His mom was listening as well.

He took Maddi's hand.

"I asked Maddi to be my girlfriend last night." he said with confidence.

The dad stood up while Mrs. Davis had a big smile on her face and hugged Maddi.

"Aw, Maddi!"

Leo's dad went up to him with a serious look on his face.

"As long as you love her." he said with a smile.

"I do, dad."

They hugged each other, then he went up to Maddi. Mrs. Davis was still squeezing her tight, then let go when she saw her husband coming up to Maddi.

"Maddi..."

He looked at her with a serious face. She looked back, a little nervous.

"Come here," he said as he stretched out his arms to give her a hug. She hugged him. Then Leo took her hand and began to talk again.

"So...I was wondering if me and Maddi could go somewhere on the way back to her house?"

His parents looked at each other, then looked at Leo.

"Sure," his dad said. "But I'm not driving, I wanna finish this game." he said as he sat down on the couch.

Mrs. Davis smiled. "I'll drive. Come on, let's go."

Leo got ready, Maddi got her things, then they went on their way.

"Where did you wanna take me?" Maddi asked.

"It's a surprise." he said with a smile.
