~Raven~
I woke up a little earlier than my alarm so I just turned it off. Darious and I fell asleep in the spooning position so I was stuck underneath his arm. I tried everything I could to try and move it but nothing worked.
"Darious." I said. He was a little bit of a heavy sleeper so he didn't hear me.
"Darious." I said as I tapped his arm. He still didn't answer.
"Darious." I said practically slapping his arm.
"Huh? What girl?"
"Move your arm, I gotta go to work." I said. Darious groaned and mumbled something and then rolled over, releasing me. I laughed to myself. It was 6:15 and I had to be at work at 7:30. I took a quick shower then took care of the rest of my hygiene. I put on my black skinny jeans with a pair of black toms and my uniform shirt. I put on my field jacket that Darious got me and left out the house. It was only 6:45 when I left out so I decided to stop by McDonald's and pick up breakfast for my manager Dana and a sweet tea for myself. When I got to work I clocked in and went to Dana's office.
"Goodmorning." I said as I handed her the bag with her food in it. She was sitting at her desk looking at papers. When she saw me she looked up and smiled. She stood up and gave me a hug.
"Im so glad to see you finally. You doing okay?" she said. When I told her about the incident he gave me some time to take off work and get the right mindset.
"Yeah i'm great actually. I'm in contact with my father again." I said.
"Wow, that's wonderful. And your birthday is coming up, you must be so happy." She said with a smile. I nodded my head.
"Welp, you know where to find me." I said as I left her office. I put my belongings in my locker and put on my apron which hand my notepad and things I needed to wait tables. I got a hug from Nicko on my way to my first table of the day. I was serving an elderly white couple. They were regulars here so I didn't have any problems with them. My second table was a little different. It was full of elderly agravating black church women.
They repeatedly asked me dumb questions and one kept erking me about my tattoos and my piercings.
"Honey how old are you?" One woman asked.
"I'll be eighteen in a couple of days." I replied with a smile.
"Aw happy early birthday." they said.
"Thank you so much." I said with the same smile.
"So you got those tattoos and piercings and you ain't even legal?" one woman said with an attitude.
"You can get tattoos and piercings before you turn eighteen as long as a legal guardian signs off on it." I said, laying down straight facts on her.
"Shame on your mother." one woman mumbled as she shook her head. I know she did not.
"Excuse me, but you don't know me nor my mother so if you could stop judging me on what I look like from the outside and not the in, I would appreciate it. A lot." I said trying to maintain a smile and not get rude with these women. They all gasped.
"Well i'll be. We are Christian women and we are the children of god. How dare you speak to us like that." A different woman said.
"And you're Christian. Aren't you supposed to take people as they are and accept them? What's that old saying? Only God Can Judge You? May I ask why you're judging me and not the fifteen other people walking around here? All I want to do is live my life and do my job but I can't really do that with you saying these hurtful things to me." I said. They all got quiet and put their heads down. It was quiet for a moment.
