"We're Just Friends."

The Call

"Hey, I gotta take this." I said as my phone continues to ring and my heart pounds.

Kyler and Mrs. Mathews, look at me kind of suspiciously noticing my mood change.
I walk out the front door onto the sidewalk and answer the phone.

"Hello?" I said, as calmly as I possibly could.

"Hey! Baylor?" Jace asks surprisingly.

"Yea it's me. Wassup?" I say calm as hell.

"Wassup?! You disappeared on me again! I've been calling." It sounds noisy in the background.

"Oh. Yeah, sorry about that. Some stuff happened and I just had to deal with it. Hey, do you wanna call me back? It sounds like you're busy." I said getting kinda annoyed by the noise in the background.

"No, umm it's fine. Hey, do you maybe wanna hang out sometime?" He asks sounding distracted.

"I umm...I can't--"
I'm interrupted by Kyler coming outside.
He begins to walk up to me.

"Hey, I gotta go. I'll text you later okay?"

"No. Gimme a kiss first." Jace says in a very sexy voice.

Kyler is almost right next to me so I make a kissy noise in the phone so he would hang up. (I felt bad just hanging up Bc I haven't talked to him in a while and if I would've hung up he might've kept calling back or worse...never called back at all!) So I did it.

Jace chuckled and said "See ya"

I was so intrigued to ask why he laughed but I just hung up instead with the biggest smile on my face.

As I turn around, I see Kyler eating an apple looking me directly in the eyes.

"Who was that?" He asks.

I hope to god he didn't hear the kiss I blew into the phone. "Oh uh it was uh Caroline."

"Oh. Okay."
I don't know if he believed me or not. Kyler is kind of a hard person to read at times.

"So..." I said trying to change the conversation.

"What do you want to do today?" I wrap my arm around his.
He shrugs and takes a big bite out of his apple.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing." He says as he takes another bite.

"Baby please don't shut me out."

"Why did you walk out of the house to take a call from Caroline?" Kyler says as he pulls away from me and throws his apple in a nearby trash can.

"Because you guys were talking. I didn't want to interrupt." I lied.

"Bullshit. Who was that?" He Walks back towards me and stands right in front of me with his arms folded."

"Baby please. It's nothing. Let's go grab something to eat okay?" I step toward him and pull his arms apart. As he flops his arms down I drag my hands along the length of his arms until I reach his fingers. I intertwine his fingers with mine. I look up into his eyes. He is looking down on me and licks his lips. Knowing what's about to happen. I stand up on my tippy toes and kiss him very seductively and kisses me back.
We kiss passionately for about 20 seconds and he breaks the kiss.

"We don't have to go anywhere you know." Kyler says with this very seductive smirk.

"Um did you forget your mom is home?"

"Oh. Yea. Well let's go to your house."
He suggests. He is as turned on as I am at this point if not more.

"Bradley is home."😒 I said annoyed.

"Oh. Lunch it is." Kyler says disappointed.

"Okay. Get in." I walk away from him to my car.

"Okay." He begins to walk towards the car but pauses.

"Wait...shit I forgot. I have to wait for my dad to get home. He is on his way. He wants to talk to me."

"okay I'll wait for you." I said

"No because I don't know when he's coming or anything he just said be here. It's okay Baylee just go."

"I'm not leaving you.. No way. I want to be with you every minute" I exaggerated. But I was telling the truth.

"It's not healthy to be with me every minute. It's toxic And I don't want you to be here when he explodes. Just go. We'll go out for dinner at 7" Kyler says.

It's about 4:15

"Okay, call me if you need me. I'm gonna go take a nap at home." I really was tired but I probably wasn't gonna sleep. I probably would just watch some T.V and eat.

He comes to my car door and gives me a kiss and as I turn around he slaps my butt and goes straight in the house like normal.

I'm still pretty turned on but I'll just deal with that when I get home. ;)

I get into the car as Kyler closes his house door and I'm about to pull off as I see a text.
