Red P.O.V
The room went silent after Welfen stopped talking. Glancing up at Mitchell's face, I could see that he was calm. Him being calm made me feel more at ease. The entire situation, as tense as it was, was a whole lot more bearable because Mitchell wasn't worried.
Across the table sat Welfen. After snapping at Grace for screaming at me, he sat down in an enervated manner. It was pretty obvious that Welfen didn't like, nor had the patience to deal with Grace. I don't think that I could deal with her either. Grace sat in the chair furthest away from me, a scowl on her face. In this scenario, Grace was clearly in the wrong. Aside from me, a 'human,' knowing about werewolves, I have done absolutely nothing wrong. Considering I can turn invisible, I highly doubt the whole human thing is even going to come up — that, and the fact that I'm Welfen's mate.
Brynn was sitting in the chair next to Grace, a look of displeasure on his youthful face. I knew that he didn't like sitting next to her, especially after the whole attempted attack against me with her claws. It probably bought up bad thoughts of the past few days. The moment we were allowed to leave, I was taking Brynn and Mitchell, and getting out of here. If I ever came back, it would be alone, and for an entirely different reason.
I don't want to have to come back to the packhouse to attempt to rescue my brother from werewolf imprisonment. I don't think anybody should have to save their siblings from kidnappers, werewolf, or otherwise.
I shifted in Mitchell's arms, feeling more and more guilty with each passing second. I know that he doesn't mind hold me; he would have said something if he did. I couldn't wait until I was able to stand for more than five minutes without feeling weak and lightheaded. Maybe next time, I won't let a large alpha wolf bite my neck.
I could feel Welfen's eyes on me, on the way Mitchell was holding me, which was bridal. I could sense the jealousy pouring off of him in waves. Was that my future? A life with a jealous werewolf? It wasn't that I didn't like Welfen. I didn't know him. He plays football, is a werewolf, and an alpha. That was about it. I would need to know a whole lot more about him before I even remotely begin to think about him in a relationship manner. Like his birthday, his favorite food, his genre of music, what shows he liked. He didn't know me either. That jealousy was probably from his wolf and not him.
"This is stupid," Grace announced, looking ready to get up and leave the room. A low growl seemed to halt her movement. My eyes snapped over to Welfen, who was glaring at her.
"You are not walking out of this room until my father arrives and decides what type of punishment you deserve for all the things you've done today," Welfen growled at her, a roughness shining through his normal voice. "You've gotten away with entirely to much shit, well, I'm putting an end to it now," Welfen said with his eyes glowing a faint purple color. Grace didn't utter another word, looking shocked at the turn of events. It makes me wonder exactly how long she has gone without being punished for her actions. With the expressions she was making, it was probably a long time.
No one said a single thing after that. I didn't speak in fear of angering Grace more than she already was. I think hearing my voice would only piss her off more, so it was better if I stayed silent.
The entire room remained quiet until the sound of footsteps just outside the door filled all of our ears. The faint chatter between two men could be heard, and without knocking, said two men entered the office. Just looking at the two, I could tell who was the alpha for two reasons. One, the guy was pretty dominating, and two, his son looked a lot like him. There were a lot of physical similarities between Welfen and his father, and looking closer; I could tell they probably shared some personality traits as well.
