Secrets all began to unfold, all because of a piece of cereal.

Nathan was a neat freak, while Ray was disorganized. She wasn't as good of a borrower as her sister was. Her sister could snag a hair off a bean's head without them even noticing. Ray, on the other hand, couldn't even hang on to a piece of cereal.

That's how Nathan caught her. He hadn't eaten cereal in a month, and he knew that he wouldn't carelessly leave a bit of cereal out.

He hoped it wasn't a rat, but deep down, he knew that the culprit wasn't a rat. There were no bite marks anywhere. 

He sighed, frustrated and confused. He suddenly heard a squeak from behind him, and looked at the counter behind him.

Nothing. He started to take a step, but the squeak came again, but now it was more of a whimper. He looked down, and there she was.

Nathan quickly caught her, and after assuring her he wouldn't do anything to harm a hair on her tiny head, she began to warm up to him. She told him her name, Ray.

Nathan introduced himself as well, and made her feel welcome. He made her a tiny room with a shoebox a few days later, but in a few months it became useless. 

Ray and Nathan began to fall in love, quickly. Ray knew all of Nathan's secrets, and Nathan was entrusted with all of hers. She was always open for him to rant to her, and Nathan told her his funniest jokes and cheesiest puns. 

Ray was the braver one in the relationship, and confessed her feelings. She did hide in the walls until Nathan told her that he had a crush on her as well. Nathan was a hopeless romantic, much to Ray's delight. 

Each morning, Ray would wake up on Nathan's pillow, sometimes with his hand protectively sheltering her, and sometimes she woke up to Nathan already in the kitchen cooking breakfast for the two of them.

Nathan proposed two years into their relationship, with a small ring that was big enough to be a bracelet for Ray. They were married legally in a church, and everyone in the church were more than happy to keep Ray's existence a secret and unite them.

The two adopted a child, a 7 year old boy. Nathan was nervous about the child being around his own mother, but their son, Caydence, was a very gentle and sensitive boy, and had the careful hands of a surgeon, which he later grew up to be. He married a beautiful woman, a scientist who quickly found out about Ray. She  was thrilled to hear about how Ray and her husband met and she was extremely protective over Ray and other borrowers, who had long ago been discovered. Ray and Nathan's son and daughter-in-law soon adopted a tiny little borrower girl, a tiny little girl who was born blind. 

Ray and Nathan couldn't have dreamed of a better life.
