Y/N POVWow. No battles.
And you didn't mean forever. Just until this pandemic passes. Yep. You know which one.
The infamous...
Covid-19.
It goes by many names. "Coronavirus", "Wuhan Virus", "SARS-Cov-2", "Toiletpaper-panic-disorder".
Yep. And the Adminitrator announced that all battles would be postponed until further notice.
You'd think that you would be rather happy that it's technically a very long ceasefire. But nope. Quite the opposite.
You had absolutely NOTHING to do!
As days passed, they just got longer and longer, which resulted in you mixing them up, confusing one day to be another. The sun would rise and set. And rise and set. And rise and set.
One day you'd walk up and down and around the halls, no particular destination in mind. Another day you'd just talk to the other female mercs, topics ranging from the latest news headlines (mainly about the Coronavirus) to which of the guys was the cutest.
You were in your room. Again. You sat slouched at the small desk in the corner of your room, the small window pane showing a beautiful sunny day. You sighed and thought very hard.
'What day is today? Tuesday? No, that was two days ago...Friday? No, not that either. Wait, I said Tuesday was two days ago, hmm...not Thursday either. Sunday?? Mmm, no that was- You know what! I'll just check the calendar!'
You picked up your head and scooted your...wheely-chair thing? You scooted your office chair (yeah, I can English now) to the potato calendar hanging on your wall. Yes, you have a potato calender (it's kawaii).
Your eyes skimmed over the crossed out days that have been passed until it landed on an empty one.
'I knew it was Tuesday! Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhh...Hm. I need to move my calender closer to my desk,' you thought.
You scooted back to your desk and stared at an ant making it's way across the wood.
'Here's to another day in paradise,' you thought sarcastically.
Suddenly, the overcoms whistled as the feedback rang in the air. Spy's voice came though.
"Will everyone come to zhe pool room, please," he spoke. The overcoms shut off and you grunted.
At least it gave you something to do.
You stood up, stretched, said your goodbyes to the ant, then walked out of your room, ambling your way down to the pool room.
You slipped in as some of the mercs sat down. Scout laid his head onto the table, Sniper leaned against the wall, Engineer sat and removed his hardhat, Soldier was standing at attention near the doorway, Demo...passed out in his seat, mumbling gibberish (as usual).
You took a seat next to Engie. He looked up from his gloved hands and smiled.
"Hey there darlin, how are you on this mighty fine day?" He asked, his black goggles seeming to stare blankly at you.
You sighed and shook your head, a small smile formed at your lips.
"Just fine, Engie. How about you?" You asked, looking back up at him.
He scratched his neck and chuckled.
"Well, just as fine as everyone else 'round here."
You nodded and slouched in your seat as more of the mercs shuffled in.
