Blaine
Mom has Cora with her today. They went to the spa, had their hair done, and now they're getting dressed. Will wasn't too happy about wearing a tuxedo, but tonight is the night everyone gets to meet my nephew. The ball is downstairs, so now we're just waiting for my dad to bring Mom and my future wife to my place. I can't help but try to imagine how beautiful Cora will be in a gown. I know she will be breathtaking, that won't be a surprise, but Cora never fails to amaze me.
Will groaned when I combed his hair and added a little gel. "You'll thank me for this someday, kid."
"How is that?" He asked in disbelief.
"One day you'll see a girl that takes your breath away," I said, and he shook his head.
"All the girls do is whine and complain." He said.
"Cora doesn't whine or complain," I said.
"Yeah, but she's different." He shrugged.
"She sure is, kid." I looked him over one last time and went over the manners we talked about earlier.
"This is going to be the worst night ever." He said after I reminded him.
"You'll have to get used to it, this is our lives and its how we live," I said.
"I don't like it." He said as he pulled at his tie.
"I felt the same way when I was a kid, but there is a lot of money raised during these events. It helps a lot of people, Will." I reminded him.
"Fine." We walked out of his bathroom and went downstairs to the kitchen. He sat on a stool and I poured myself a scotch.
"That stuff stinks." He scrunched his nose.
"That's why it's not for kids," I said right before I took a drink.
"Do I have to drink that yucky stuff when I grow up?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No, I only drink it because I like the taste. If it's not for you, then don't ever drink it. It's a personal choice." I said.
"Cora's knocked up." He said just as I had raised my glass for another drink, but I quickly set it down.
"Knocked up?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm not stupid." He rolled his eyes.
"Will, that's not the proper way to refer to a woman's pregnancy," I said.
"Okay, fine, she's got a baby in her." He said.
I sighed.
"She's pregnant, it's a simple as that," I said.
"I won't make a good babysitter, just so you know." He hopped off his stool and opened the fridge to get a water.
"I never thought you would babysit," I said.
"Good, 'cause it ain't happening." He shut the fridge door. I tried not to laugh because I'm sure I would have thought the same thing as a kid.
"Cora will care for the baby, and we're still looking for a nanny," I said.
He scoffed. "I don't need a nanny."
"This is New York City. Cora can't take to school forever and you can't walk," I said.
"Why not?" He climbed back on to stool.
"Because there's crime here, but when we move, we'll be further out and you can go outside to play. Maybe we can play some football." I said.
"That would be cool I guess." He said.
I heard the elevator ding and stood up straight. "Let's greet your beautiful grandmother and Cora," I said.
"What does that make grandpa?" He laughed.
I shook my head and saw it was just my father.
"Don't worry, the girls are on their way up. Cora snagged her dress with her heel and your mom took her to housekeeping to get it fixed." He said as he walked over and poured a glass of scotch. He shot it back, then looked at Will.
"Wow, my grandson will be the most handsome guy down there tonight." He said.
"Well, I won't be like Uncle Blaine and be knocking anyone up." He said, and dad spit out his drink.
"What have you been teaching this kid?" He looked at me.
I raised my hands up. "It wasn't me."
He nodded. "Right, I should have guessed that much." He rolled his eyes, then looked at Will. "Where did you hear that?"
"School, then I heard Uncle Blaine say something about a baby to Cora." He said.
"Yeah, Blaine is going to be a father, but that's not something we want to talk about downstairs. Cora is pregnant, so don't refer to her as knocked up, okay?" Dad asked.
The elevator door opened and I heard two women laughing. "That was before he knocked me up."
I gasped when I realized that it was my mother speaking.
"Now that sounds like the woman I married." My father laughed, then looked at me. "Brace yourself." He warned me, and when I turned my head, I couldn't believe what I saw.
"Holy..." Will whispered, and I couldn't take my eyes off the woman that's marrying me. I heard Will gulp right before I did.
Her hair is fixed up and her makeup perfectly highlights her beautiful eyes. Her slender neck led to her exposed shoulders. The rose colored satin gown hugged the amazing curves she has, and don't get me started on those swollen boobs she complains about. Then I saw the slit up her dress as it exposed one of those long legs.
"Do you like?" She turned around to show me her exposed back.
"I..umm.." I gulped again and heard my dad chuckle.
"Well?" My mom asked.
I pointed at Cora and all that escaped my lips was, "Mine." I'm such an idiot, and even Will laughed at me. My parents are almost hysterical.
I shook myself out of it and walked up to kiss her cheek. "I think I have waited for you my entire life."
I stood straight up and she looked up at me with those amazing eyes and smiled. "You look amazing." She stretched up to kiss my cheek.
"I can't imagine how beautiful you will be on our wedding day." I reached down for her hand and pulled it up to give it a kiss.
"You're a lucky man, son." Dad patted my back.
I looked over at him. "You aren't kidding."
