Chapter 8

Ako shuffled the stack of papers in her hands, looking up at the four girls in front of her, "I have finally received my flyers for the campaign."

"Let's see it!" Yume urged excitedly.

Ako lifted one up and turned it around to them with a smirk on her face.

The girls gasped in delight.

"It looks great!" Laura flashed a thumbs up.

Mahiru nodded, "The design is great!"

"Indeed. I must give Haruka my thanks for the design." Ako grinned, placing the paper back on the stack, "Now then, I'll give you each some that you can pass out or hang on the bulletin boards." She assigned each girl to a specific position, "And Laura and Yume, you two will be passing them outside. I have to stop by the council room, but will join you right after."

Yume grinned, "Wow, you've got it really planned out, Ako!"

Ako smirked confidently and flipped her hair over her shoulder, "Of course. Now, off you go."

"Yes!" They cried at once, splitting away from each other in the hallway.

Ako smiled down at her papers as she led herself to the council room. There, she just had to post her own flyer on the wall. With a hum, Ako punctured the flyer to the wall with a clear thumbtack. She took a small step back to gloss over the other posters already hanging.

A pretty teal blue poster caught her eye. The poster was well designed and interesting to look at. The name and running position caught her off guard; Arisa Sakamoto for student body president.

A gasp ripped from her throat. Arisa was running? Ako gulped, she knew how good Arisa was on the council; the girl was already on the council. She was sure to get it.

How would she beat Arisa? Ako gripped the papers in her hand. They crumpled in her grip.

She released her hold and let out a sigh.

Ako shook her head; she could do this. Her posters, her speech, her campaign- she was designing it all so that she could win.

Strong determination flooding through her veins, Ako went outside to join Yume and Laura as they were already pitching Ako's campaign to bystanders.

"Ako!" Yume waved happily, "We got a few people to take the flyers!"

Ako smiled, "That's great!" She joined the two, loudly calling out her campaign as she urged students to take her flyers.

A smooth voice called from behind Ako, "Oh, what's this? A student body running campaign?"

Ako spun around to see Yume nod. "Yeah! Ako's running for president!"

Ako's eyes went wide at the sight of the people Yume were talking to. It was Subaru!

"Nice," Subaru smiled, making eye contact with Ako. "Good luck, we'll be rooting for you."

Ako's eyes sparkled and she nodded energetically.

"Why?" Kanata suddenly spoke. He held up a flyer, "According to my observations, we don't even know what her plan is if she gets that position."

They were all silent with shock.

Ako's mouth dropped. "W-Well-!"

Asahi laughed nervously, breaking the tension and began pushing Kanata ahead, "Don't worry about him! Do your best, alright!"

Kanata tilted his head backwards with a smirk, "You've got my vote."

Nozomi and Subaru simply waved and walked off with the others.
