Chapter Twenty : The Chunnin Exams (part 3)

"Fox-san, How's ibiki-chan holding up..."

I can't bring myself to look at the now-identified girl... The SHE from Ibiki's warning... She had taken an interest in him... He's been royally screwed.

"He seems about as calm as he should be... My team probably are either laughing or begging that I never see the paper they left... They know what will happen to them if I read any wrong answer..." She looks at my paper, still blank... Then back at me, her eyes are almost a golden hue, her black muddied hair and an easily forgettable face. She slowly peels a bit of it to show me the pitch-black mask underneath before putting it back on... I don't even know if I've dreamed of the little show of mask but my thoughts are interrupted by Anko bursting into the open window... She announces the second stage and everyone rushes to follow her... Only Morino-san, the unknown team, and I stay...

"Hey... Ombre, how are you on this fine morning ?" The question seems weird, foreign, and...

"Oh I feel very nice, I got to say you train them well, Ibiki-chan... He didn't even spill a word about anything important all the while probing for info on us... Which he predictively failed to obtain.
- He tried... That's all that matters... How do you find your stay in Konoha..." They continued their banter for 2 to 3 minutes before I slipped and said:
"- Would you mind explaining what the hell is going on here?
- well for a start I'm going to make you regret intruding into adult conversations, genin... Then I'm going to do something about that sassy mouth of yours..." She locked me in her arm and brought a small tab out of her pocket... The small candy-like thing tasted so bad... Even worse than Neko-sempai's Brownies and that's saying something ( An idiotic chunnin had once classified her brownies as a torture method... He won't ever have children but still...)
"You won't interrupt us nor will you ever say a bad word like that ever again, did I make myself clear" Her voice was smooth but commanding... She probably was used to people doing what she asked of them, she definitely was an interrogator but then she should know I wasn't gonna abide by her terms, whatever she might have done before.

My eyes went over to Morino who looked a bit amused by the whole situation...
"Just say you won't, Kitsune... You're going to be late, and she won't drop it...
- I thought we weren't supposed to abide by the terms of an interrogator ?" Who was that guy and where was one of my best friends? She squeezed me a bit more, locking some of my joints... That started to really be uncomfortable, I did the hand signs for a late bunshin and sent it to the forest of death.

"Come on little boy... You're going to say what I want or you'll regret it.
- Just one of you drop it... You wouldn't want to be late for the rest of the exams...
- He'll snap before me... Come on little boy.
- I won't abide by the term of a foreign interrogator" She looked at me and without me seeing her move, hit me hard in the ribs...
She kept on hitting and kicking me until I finally said, weakly :
"I won't interrupt you nor will I ever say bad words like that, ever again...
- ... Ever again what?
- Ever again, ma'am."
She looked at me with her yellow eyes and smiled...

"Yes, that's a lot better little boy. I'll warn you like I warned all of my subordinates: Now that  I gave you rules, you won't ever disobey me because disobeying me will mean a punishment you'll hate... Now we have the other part of a chunnin exams to finish... Of course, you will assist us by not attacking our team, well except if you want to get your team to get thoroughly destroyed. They're not ANBU, are they? They probably believe your cover too... You wouldn't want anything to happen to them, would you?
- Actually, I wouldn't mind... They treat me like sh... They treat me badly and they could use a nice wake-up call..." That got me a hard slap and another piece of that disgusting paste...

I let them follow me to the forest of death I kawarimied with my clone just in time for the hunt to start... Guess the second part of the exam would be a lot more interesting I thought while looking in the direction the unknown team had gone...
