"This is so boring" Harrison whispered at he read the same sentence he'd been reading for the last 20 minutes. He was supposed to be studying for his biology exam but all the big words were jumbled together and he couldn't make sense of anything. On top of that he was exhausted because he stayed up until 4am reading a book for English. He held his head in his hands, slumped down and sighed heavily. He rubbed his eyes and looked up, scanning the library. It wasn't too busy but there were a few people scattered around reading different material. His eyes landed on someone who looked familiar. It was a boy with short blue hair and a pair of round glasses that slid down his nose from looking down at his book. He was dressed in a plain black hoodie with a matching black beanie. Harrison was pretty sure this boy was in his bio class. He didn't seem to talk much but their was an interesting air about him. Harrison looked around for a second and stood up walking over to him. "Um excuse me?" The boy looked up, surprised to have been interrupted from his reading. "Can I help you?" He spoke with a low voice. Harrison didn't know if that was natural or if he was doing it on purpose considering their location. He didn't really know why he had approached the boy but now he had to say something. He fumbled slightly over his words as he introduced himself. "Hi, yes-well, my name is Harrison." The boy raised his eyebrows at him, "I know." He hadn't said much yet but everything he did say, he seemed to sure of himself. His tone was confident and he replied almost immediately, without having to give it much thought. "You do?" Harrison asked surprised. The blue haired boy who was still seated, placed a bookmark in his book and closed it. "You're Harrison Pendrake, junior, head of the debate team and Mr. Popularity." He said and leaned back in his chair. "We have the same Biology class although I don't expect you to know who I am." Harrison was shocked about the amount of information this particular student knew about him. I guess Harrison was popular and talked about by many, but this mystery boy didn't seem like the type to care about keeping up with people. "How do you know all that stuff?" The boy smirked, "I make it my business to know." Something about his tone made Harrison's heartbeat quicken a little. "So is there a reason you came over to me?" Harrison snapped out of his thoughts, "Oh! Right, so I saw you were studying the same stuff as me and uh I'm having a hard time understanding it so I was wondering if maybe you could-" "-you want me to teach you?" Harrison nodded slowly, "Yeah but just this one thing not like regularly or anything...I'm sorry..what's your name?" Harrison wracked his brain trying to remember but he came up blank. "Dolan." He stared into Harrison's eyes. "My name is Dolan." A chill went down his spine as he nodded. "Right so..can you please teach me?" Dolan thought about it for a moment and agreed. "Alright fine but you have to pay attention, no goofing off." Harrison nodded and sat down in front of him. "I promise! I really want to pass this class and thank you...Dolan"
So the two opened their books and went over all the material they were supposed to memorize by tomorrow.
* Two hours later *
Dolan looked up at the clock and stretched his arms. "Alright I'd better get going now." Harrison looked up with wide eyes, "What? But I don't know everything yet!" Dolan laughed, "Of course you do, we went over it 5 times and you knew everything." Harrison closed his book and looked at him nervously. "You really think I'm ready?" Dolan smirked, "Yeah I do, besides you learned from the best." He winked. Harrison rolled his eyes and swat him on the arm. "Shut up." He laughed. "Really though...thank you for helping me." Harrison smiled and Dolan nodded. "My pleasure." They each packed their books and materials in their bags, making sure they cleaned up the table. "If you ever need help again, don't be afraid to ask." Dolan smiled with his teeth and oh boy that made Harrison's heart pound in his chest. He found himself staring at the boy in front of him a little too long. "Uh...are you okay?" Dolan asked and Harrison snapped out of his thoughts. "Oh right yeah uh sorry..I just..you have a really pretty smile.." Dolan's eyes widened. Was he just...complimented? That was an extremely rare occurrence. Harrison's cheeks turned red and he fumbled over his words, almost dropping his books. "Uh I mean-! Sorry I just was thinking out loud and I couldn't stop and-" Dolan relaxed and laughed at the nervous boy. "Harrison." He stopped talking. "It's okay." Harrison nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. "Okay well uh thanks again and I'll see you in class." He rushed off as fast as possible out of the library. Dolan smirked and slung his bag over his shoulder. "This is going to be an interesting year." He walked out of the library, with thoughts of a cute stuttering brunette.A/N: Hey guys! I'm back to writing now that the holidays are over and I'm gonna be honest, it's been hard. I've been writing a lot but I haven't been proud of what I write so I have 5-6 unfinished drafts I will hopefully revise and finish eventually. For now I hope you liked this very short, kinda cute study/college au thing. Until next time~ Ty
