At school... Juliana's P.O.V.
Chase walked over to Bree, Leo, and me, looking a bit frustrated.
"Did you guys see the yearbook?" Chase asked. "Everybody but me got a 'Most likely to...', even Leo!"
"What?" Leo asked. "Let me see that. 'Most likely never to get a 'most likely.''. I'm on the board!" Chase sighed.
"Well, that proves it. I'm completely invisible at this school."
"Chase, that's not true," Bree said. If you were invisible, I couldn't do this."
Bree hit Chase and I giggled.
"Chase," I cooed, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Just because you weren't nominated doesn't mean you're invisible."
"Oh, really?" Chase asked. "Yeah? What's this?" Chase showed me his yearbook photo, which had a question mark and his name was misspelled. "'Chip Davenport'. I'm a misnamed question mark!" I rubbed Chase's shoulder and kissed his cheek.
"Well, you're not invisible to me."
Chase smiled a bit and took my hand.
"Thanks, kitten."
"Wussup, snot-buckets?" Principal Perry asked as she walked out of her office. "Don't forget to sign up for the annual Mission Creek High talent show. Auditions are after school, and will be judged, by moi. Chances are that if I don't like you, you won't get through, and I don't like any of you, so good luck."
"This talent show is the perfect opportunity for me to build my fan base," Leo said. I raised a brow.
"Leo, you don't have a fan base," I said.
"I know. That's why I have to build one. With magic!"
Oh, right. Leo's magic kit.
"Well," Chase said. "That is what it would take." I giggled.
"No," Leo stated. "I got a magic kit and I've been practicing, specifically for the competition."
"A magic kit? Isn't that kind of lame?"
"There is nothing lame about buying something off the Internet to make friends." Leo turned to me. "Would you like to see a card trick?"
"Sure," I said.
"Okay, this is your card." An 8. I nodded. "Mm-hmm... Hey, what's that in your hair? Bam!" Leo pulled the card out of my hair and I giggled. "See? Magic."
"You know what my problem is?" Chase asked. "All of my talents are bionic, and I can't reveal them at school."
"Aww," Leo said sarcastically. "Bionic people problems."
"Hey- Give me those cards. Come on, gimme." Chase turned to me. "Pick a card, any card." A queen of hearts. "Put it back in." Chase pulled out a card. "Is this your card?" I shook my head. "This one? This one? This one? This one?" Leo pulled out my card.
"Boom," Leo said with a grin. "Magic."
After school at talent show tryouts... Juliana's P.O.V.
I sat in the crowd patiently until it was Leo's turn to try out.
"Aha!" Leo exclaimed as he jumped on stage.
"Ugh!" Principal Perry exclaimed. "Dooley. Next!"
"Come on, give me a chance."
"Ah, fine. Just get it over with." Leo pulled out three large metal rings.
