Juliana's P.O.V.
I was hanging out in the hydroloop room with Leo when I heard Douglas walking in.
"Yes, Donny, I'll take out the garbage," Douglas said to his phone as he walked in. "No, Donny, I won't experiment on the kids bionics while they're asleep again." Leo gave Douglas a look. "It was one time, and you didn't even notice," Douglas said to Leo before going back to his phone call. "Gotta go. Yes, I miss you too." Douglas hung up and turned to Leo and me. "Well, Donny and the students made it to Gettysburg for their first official field trip."
"Bionic kids and cannon balls, what could possibly go wrong?" Leo asked sarcastically.
"You're a student, why didn't you go?"
"Oh, Big D thinks I'm there. When he takes attendance I paid a kid five bucks to yell 'here!' and another kid ten bucks to yell 'shut it Leo!'."
Bree walked in and Leo rushed up to her.
"Oh, hey Bree," Leo said. "I ditched the field trip so I could hang out with you guys. What should we do on our day off??"
"Our day off?" Bree asked. "Nope, this is my day off, and I've already got it all planned out. I'm gonna sit by the pool and read a book. I'd ask you to join me, but I live and work with my family so I'm sick of all of you."
Chase walked in and I smiled, getting up from my seat.
"Hey, Chase, wanna hang out?" Leo asked.
"Sorry Leo, gotta make the most of my day off," Chase explained. "I already organized the weapons vault, alkalized the islands water system, and taught a cute little group of dolphins to wave hello. Next up, some light reading."
"Annnddd hanging out with me?" I asked hopefully, coming up to Chase's side.
"Of course, kitten." He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and kissed my head. "Later tonight, I shall be all yours."
Adam walked in, carrying a giant rock.
"Hey Adam-" Leo went to say.
"Nope," Adam said, stepping around him.
"I didn't even ask you anything yet."
"Oh, sorry, go ahead."
"Thank you, would you like to hang o-"
"Nope!" Adam turned to Chase, Bree and me. "Guys, check out this rock I found on shore. I had to dig it out from under a wooden box filled with old yellow coins and jewelry."
Chase examined the rock. "Adam, this isn't a rock, it's a fossil," he stated. "Let me see that."
Chase took the fossil from Adam and set it on a table, all of us gathering around it. Chase used his bionics to scan the fossil. He suddenly smiled and gasped from excitement.
"This is a pre-historic sea spider," Chase explained. "It went extinct millions of years ago!"
"Way to go, Chase, you made my rock boring," Adam said before walking away.
"Cool, I love spiders!" Leo said. "In fact in high school, they used to call me 'spider legs'... and now I'm realizing that's a bad thing."
"It looks like it's from the cretaceous period," Douglas stated, referring to the spider.
"You're right Douglas," Chase said. "It's from the valiginion subdivision. I would've loved to have seen this spider when it was alive."
"Well, maybe you can. You know, before I got into bionics, I dabbled in biology. I was trying to use fossils to bring extinct species back to life."
