Julianna's P.O.V.

I was woken up to the sound of Chase screaming! I jumped out of bed and rushed out of our room to see him with a huge smile on his face, and it looked like he had been awake for hours.

"Wake up!" He screamed. "We did it! We did it! We did it!" He jumped up and down and excitement, the lecture about to burst from my chest residing.

"We were sleeping!" Leo shouted. "We were sleeping! We were sleeping!"

"Chase, it is five-thirty in the morning," Bree scolded. "What's going on?"

"It took five years, but Mr. Davenport and I finally cracked it," Chase began to explain. "We created a new technology that's gonna revolutionize the way the world gets its energy!"

"Did he just wake us up just to talk about science?" Adam asked.

"I don't care where you hit him, just make it hurt," Bree told Adam, walking away.

"Wait, so where is this new technology?" I asked, Chase's excitement leaping onto me.

"Come on!" He exclaimed with a big smile. "I'll show you!"

He grabbed my hand and we raced out of the room. I struggled to keep up, still being very tired, but I only smiled and laughed. He's so cute when he gets excited like this. Chase brought me into a containment room, where dad was admiring a small device in a glass box.

"I love-" Dad said, but stopped and stood straight as soon as we ran into the room.

"Were you just talking to a glass cube?" Bree asked.

"No," Dad said. "I was talking to my reflection in the glass cube."

"Here she is," Chase presented. "The Daven-Chase energy transponder."

"That little thing is what the two of you have been working on for the past five years?" Adam asked. "Your genius is fading, young Chase."

"Yeah, if you think that's impressive I've got a log cabin made out of popsicle sticks that will blow your mind."

"So, what does it do?" I asked.

"It's kinda like Leo's transference ability," Chase explained. "It wirelessly harnesses energy from sources around it, then stores it so it's the ultimate power source."

"Oh, cool!" Adam said. "I've been looking for a new phone charger. Crack open and juice me up!"

"It's not a phone charger, Adam," Dad stated. "It's a billion-dollar piece of technology. This little device packs enough punch to power an entire skyscraper."

"So what'll that get me? Like, fifteen hours of talk time." Dad and Chase opted to ignore him.

"Right now, this is just a one-of-a-kind prototype. But soon, the entire world will run on my technology."

"Uh, I think you mean our technology," Chase corrected.

"Yeah, my technology." Chase's expression fell, but dad ignored him. "Let me show you how it works. For security reasons we're keeping it in this impenetrable cube that can only be opened with my retina scan."

The machine scanned dad's eye and then clicked open, and dad carefully opened the lid.

"Heh, eye am impressed," Leo joked and I snorted, giving Leo a high five.
