"Looking for someone?" Sam, a cheerleader asked me. The others at the table stared at me, Trevor smirked at me. "Yeah, he's new to the school and he's my neighbor. I said we'd see each other at lunch." I said and she nodded her head.

"He better not be a nerd." Trevor said smugly and I scoffed. "Far from it, actually." I said and from a far, I could see him entering the cafeteria. I stood up and called his name. Asahi saw me and smiled.

He walked towards our table and I offer him a seat next to me. I felt a nudge on my shoulder from my left, it was Jamie. "Are you gonna introduce him to us or what?" He asked and I mentally face palmed myself.

How could I forget?

"Guys, this is Asahi." I started to say and Asahi smiled at them and they returned the smile. "Asa, this is the football team... Well, most of them." I said the last part quietly to him and he nodded his head. The rest of the team were somewhere else in the school with their own friends.

Trevor stood up from his seat and walked over to Asahi. Confused as Trevor bent down at ear level, whispering something to him. Asahi looked confused and Trevor smirked.

Asahi looked at me. "I'm gonna go line up to get my food." He said and I nodded my head. "Let's go." Trevor said and Asahi followed after him.

"Do they know each other?" Sam asked me and I shrugged my shoulders. "We'll ask him later." Jamie said.

After a few minutes, as the line wasn't that long, Trevor and Asahi came back to the table with their food. "You guys look close, have you met each other before?" Sam asked and Trevor chuckled. "Nope." He said. "I just thought it'd be a nice way to get to know our new classmate, y'know?"

"Oh, yeah! Can I see your schedule?" Sam asked and then they started talking about his schedule, which I was not paying attention to because I already knew his classes.

Throughout their whole conversation, I noticed Trevor was just staring at Asahi while eating. Now, he was sitting at the end side of the table on the right and Asahi was sitting on my left. He could look at anyone but he was looking at Asahi. Clearly.

Not that I was jealous or anything. I was just annoyed.

Asahi was oblivious throughout this whole thing.

Soon after, the school bell rang, signaling it was time to get back to class. I didn't have any classes with Asahi but guess who did?

"We have Biology together, right?" Trevor asked him and he nodded his head. "Cool. See you dudes later." He said. Asahi giving me a smile and mouthed a 'bye' and did a small wave at me. I smiled back and he started going after Trevor.

I grabbed Sam on the shoulder and she looked at me, annoyed. "What?"

"Can you watch Trevor? I feel like he's up to something." I asked and she sighed. "What are you talking about?" She asked. "Trevor was being weird, he was like... staring at Asahi." I tried to reason with her.

"So? Maybe he likes him."

"Trevor's straight."

"Even the most straight ruler can bend, you know?" She said with a smirk.

"Wow. Quote of the year."

"Thank you- and Trevor's not up to something. Maybe he's just in a good mood today to be nice and show new students what a great school we have right here." She said sarcastically.

"But, Sam-"

"Yo, I gotta go. See you later." She said quickly and left me behind. I sighed deeply and looked around to see some students still eating, some getting ready for class.

I don't know why I'm so worried about him but I am. Maybe it's because he's my neighbor and I feel responsible for him, maybe I'm scared that if anything happens to him, I'd be the blame for not looking out for him.

I breathe in deeply and exhaled.

Man, I need to get to class.
