As soon as I got back home from school, I received a text from the one person I really didn't want to talk to.

Trevor: Hey dude, can I ask for Asahi's number? We were talking so much that I forgot to ask for his number ahaha

I frowned at the text message and sighed.

He wants his number now, huh? I texted him back.

Me: Um sorry but I don't have his number too

Trevor immediately read my message, took several minutes for him to reply to it.

Trevor: Really? That's too bad. Thanks anyway.

I smiled to myself. Truth is, I do have Asahi's number. I just didn't want to give him the easy access. If he wanted it, he could just ask Asahi himself.

Trevor usually wouldn't ask for someone's phone number, that just isn't his thing. I didn't even have his number until weeks after coach scolded him, telling him he should have his teammates' phone number. I mean, what captain doesn't have his own teammates' contacts?

I went up to my room and plugged in my phone to charge. I undressed and went to my bathroom to take a quick shower. I let my thoughts run through my head as the water poured onto my whole body.

Was I being mean? To Trevor? But I was just looking out for my new friend...

I don't think Trevor's intention is any good, but why did I think that? Trevor hasn't done anything bad to me, ever, so why am I so negative about him? What's this feeling?

I sighed deeply and decided to stop showering as I realised that I was just standing underneath the shower head, literally just getting myself wet from head to toe. I wrapped the towel around my waist and left the bathroom. As I got dressed, I could hear my mom calling me from downstairs, telling me to come down. I shouted back to let her now that I heard her.

I put on some shorts and a white t-shirt and went downstairs, running my fingers through my hair as I go. I stopped half way down the stairs as I saw Asahi and his mom in the living room. I smiled at Asahi and he returns it. "Honey, can you make some coffee for Mrs Erika and Asahi?" Mom asked sweetly and I nodded my head hesitantly. I headed to the kitchen and got working. I heard a small cough from behind me and I turned my head around to see Asahi.

"Hey." He greeted me. "Your friend.." He started to say.

Is he going to talk about Trevor?

"Which one?" I asked him, not looking at him but focusing on making their coffee. "You know, the black guy?" He reminded me and I nodded my head. "What about him?" I asked and he chuckled. "Man, he talks a lot. I couldn't focus in class. I actually wanted to study, you know?" He said in amusement.

"Yeah, Trevor usually talks a lot so," I said. "I mean, he's really funny though. Not gonna lie." He added and I nodded my head.

I suddenly felt his presence next to me. "You're taking an awfully long time to make coffee." He said and I stopped what I was doing. "Sorry." I said and he smiled. I grabbed a small tray and put the cups of coffee onto it gently. "Can I have that?" He asked and pointed towards a jar of cookies He looked at me with his big brown eyes and I just stood there, not knowing what to do. "Please?" He was begging now.

Why can't I say anything?

"Okay." I finally managed to say and grabbed the jar of cookies and gave it to him. "Thank you." He said in a cheerful voice. "See you inside." He said and walking away, bringing the jar with him.

I breathed in deeply and exhaled.

That was the most stressful situation I have ever been in.

What the hell just happened?
