It turned out mom wanted to ask more questions to Mrs Erika and Mrs Erika decided that it might be a long conversation so she decided that we should take it in the dining room (and eating the cake, of course).
"So, which school is Aiden attending?" Mrs Erika asked my mom and mom told her the name of my high school. Mrs Erika's eyes lit up. "That's where my son is going tomorrow! Hold on, let me call him down so he could meet you." Mrs Erika said and called out to her son. Loud footsteps from above could be heard again.
Wow, this kid likes stomping, doesn't he?
"Asa! Come down to the kitchen!" She said in a not too quiet but not too loud voice. "Okay!" Said a boy's voice. Her son came down and was surprised to see me again. I smiled.
Yes, dude. We're still here.
He obviously had a fake smile on his face, I mean- I use it all the time so I know a fake smile when I see one. His mom told him to sit across from my seat, saying that he should introduce himself. "Hi." He started. "Hey, I'm Aiden. What's yours?" I said-asked and he smiled.
"Just call me Asa." Asa.
"Is that like a nick name of something?" I asked and he nodded his head. "It's easier to call me that." He said and turned to look at his mom.
"お母さん、なぜ彼らはまだここにいるのですか?" He asked her and his mom glared at him. (Mom, why are they still here?)
"Asa." She said in a warning tone but mom and I were just confused.
"何?彼らが私が言っていることを理解できるわけではありません." He said something again, but this time it was longer and he spoke in a whiny manner. (What? It's not like they can understand what I'm saying.)
His mother frowned at what he said and sighed. He looked at his mom then he looked back at me. "Want to go upstairs?" He asked me, suddenly changing his attitude.
WAIT, WHAT.
"Um.. sure." I said and looked at my mom and she smiled at me, "Go ahead." She said and I forced out a smile. Asa stood up and told me to follow him. I followed him from behind, two steps away from him.
I was pretty sure he said something to his mom about my mom and I but I can't make a guess.
"Nice room." I complimented as we walked into his room and that was a real compliment because his room looked really cool. His room was just like any aesthetic teenage American boy's room, except he wasn't American and there were quotes on the wall written in a language that was, again, not in Korean.
"So what kind of name is Asa?" I asked, curious. He looked at me funny. "You can't tell?" He asked in amusement and I tried not to look offended.
He's making me feel stupid, right now and I don't like it.
"It's short for Asahi and it's Japanese." He explained a little bit and I nodded my head.
"Well, I have friends who are into anime and stuff but I'm not really into all of that so that's why I don't know." I said, unnecessarily telling him some information that he probably doesn't care about. He nodded his head and told me to sit down on his bed while he sets up his PS4. He bent down to plug in some wires and I may or may not have been staring at his ass while he was doing his thing.
I stopped myself before he could realise what I was doing. "What do you want to play?" He asked and I chose what I wanted to play. "Oh, you like FPS games too?" He asked and I smiled while nodding my head.
"Well, you should play first." He said. "2つのコントローラーをインストールしましたが、FPSゲームを選択します." He said in Japanese, but this time it was in a lower tone. (Even though I installed two controllers but you chose an FPS game.)
"What?" I asked, hiding the frustration in my voice. He looked at me innocently and smiled. "Oh, it's nothing. It's just something I say to myself before playing this game. FPS games are awesome but this game gets on my nerves.. that's all."
Oh.
I turned to look at the screen and pressed start. "It's been such a long time since I played this. Don't laugh at me if I suck." I said, trying to liven up the atmosphere.
He chuckled and I smiled. "I'm pretty bad at this game too but I think I can help you along the way." Asa said then smiled at me. I returned the smile. "Thanks." I said and he nodded his head.
I didn't realise.
I didn't realise we were so close with eachother. We stared at one another for a little too long. He blinked first and stared at his controller.
I moved unnoticeably away from him. I laughed a little.
"....that was weird, huh?" I asked.
"Yeah.. let's just start playing the game."
