haerim stood in front of the mirror and gulped.
the day was finally here.
the day of her wedding day.
she never imagined getting married to her very first lover, but it looked like her first love would remain her last.
"haerim are you ready?" her mother and father peeked through the door watching the bride look at herself one last time.
haerim nodded in confidence, "yea.. i'm ready."
"come on dear" her father extended his hand and she gladly took it and walked with her father to the cathedral.
she could hear chatting from the inside and her nerves resurfaced.
her father sensed her nervousness and rubbed her back soothingly in an attempt to calm his daughter down. "it's okay haerim, you don't have to worry about it everything will be fine."
"you know," her father started in an attempt to make haerim feel better, "when i was getting married to your mother, i was so nervous i accidentally peed myself."
haerim let out a loud laugh at her father's story. "are you serious?!"
her father nodded with a grin. "yea, and your mom was laughing while walking down the isle as she saw me. it was super embarrassing. but hey, she still got married to me at the end of the day."
haerim looked down and then back at her father, "do you think donghyuck will pee himself too?"
her father laughed. "i hope he doesn't"
they both laughed and looked at each other with love. haerim tightly hugged her father and said, "i love you dad."
her father teared up a little and hugged his daughter back. "i love you too kiddo. now go get your husband" he said with a bright smile.
haerim nodded and linked her arm with her father's as the music started playing.
the big cathedral doors opened and she started walking down the aisle. she felt everyone's stare on her and then, she looked at him.
he was crying with a huge smile on his face. that made haerim start crying too with an equally big smile on her face.
her father handed her off to donghyuck and soon the ceremony began.
after a while it was time for the vows. donghyuck pulled out his little paper were his vows were written and started.
"dear haerim, the first time i ever saw you back in high school, i never thought much of you. just another ordinary girl. but you are far from ordinary. when all of my friends-" he paused and gave a little glare to his best men as they coughed and looked around to relieve the tension, "abandoned me for god knows what reason, you were one of the people that truly stuck by me and made me feel happy once more. when you confessed to me about what you did ten years ago, i couldn't help but still love you. chae haerim, or should i say lee haerim, you brought light into my dark world and your mere existence makes me feel like the happiest man alive. i love you so much haerim" donghyuck finished as he wiped the few tears that had escaped his eyes.
on the other hand, haerim was sobbing from his beautiful vow. it was her turn now.
"eleven years ago, i tripped and fell and you were the one who helped me up. you were the only thing on my mind for about a year until i finally decided to do something about it. i wanted to date you because i really liked you. i tried everything to get with you and even did some horrible things which i shouldn't have done. i realise now that i could have gotten you in another way, more humane, but my mind was a dark void at the time. after i confessed about it, i expected you to break up with me and report me, but you accepted me and stayed by me for all these years. i'd never expected that i'd get married to my first love but i'm more than happy that i am. because i love you with all my heart, lee donghyuck. i love you so much i'd do anything for you."
donghyuck sobbed loudly from haerim's vow and jaemin tried to calm him down.
when he finally calmed down, the priest continued.
"now that the vows are complete , we will move to the final stage of the wedding ceremony."
the ring boy, donghyuck's younger cousin, brought the rings to the couple and left while the couple were holding the rings, ready to place them in each other's hand.
"do you, chae haerim, take lee donghyuck to be your lawfully wedded husband till death do you apart?"
haerim slipped the ring she was holding onto donghyuck's ring finger as she spoke, "i do."
"do you, lee donghyuck, take chae haerim to be your lawfully wedded wife till death do you apart?"
donghyuck proceeded to place his ring on her ring finger too. "i do".
the priest smiled and continued, "congrats. you may now kiss the wife."
and with that, donghyuck pulled haerim close and her kissed her passionately as the guests roared with excitement and cheered for the new wedded couple.
haerim and donghyuck finally had their happy ending.
