Arlo's Birthday!

Part 7: Attempt

Seraphina woke up in her dorm and groaned. She really had eaten too much last night and had danced too much with her friends... she could've used that time to study for today's history test. And today's math test. And today's science quiz...

At least she had boba to look forward to, even if it was with Arlo. Boba was boba. 

Sera put on her uniform, and was walking out when she met Elaine. 

Sera: Hey Elaine.

Elaine: Hi Seraphina! How are you?

Sera: Same as always. 

Elaine smiled and talked about Arlo on their walk to science class.

Elaine: You know, Arlo is so tall. He is so nice to have invited the entire school to his huge birthday party. Arlo blablabla...

Seraphina yawned. She heard Elaine talking about this all the time. Why Arlo was so handsome and why he was so nice...

Wait. Did Elaine LIKE Arlo?

Seraphina couldn't really understand. He was so grumpy all the time. But she decided not to judge.

Seraphina:  Hey Elaine, I'm supposed to meet up with Arlo today... I'll ask him about you!
Elaine turned a bright pink, but stammered a thank you to Seraphina. Sera had to admit, even though she didn't like Arlo, she would talk to him for Elaine. She would make Arlo cooperate somehow...

During the meantime, Arlo was thinking of dire ways to convince Seraphina. Maybe he could get her ability back... that would be something she wouldn't be able to refuse. She would owe him a big one. But he didn't know if someone had taken it or if it was just oppressed. And if EMBER had acually done it... he could potentially get killed.

He was not going to get that desperate. He would talk with Seraphina. He would make it work. But he still wasn't sure of himself...

Remi was wondering about her brother, Rei. What would he do in a crisis like this, where someone stronger than everyone went rabid?

She had to get stronger. Somehow.
