Arlo's Birthday!

Part 23: Revealed?

Blyke's beams propelled him forward, hopping from building to building. He knew that Volcan would try to throw him off, and that he had to stay focused. With someone as powerful and mysterious as Volcan, he didn't know who would help her and what tricks she had. He'd have to be careful in her territory. 

During the meantime, Volcan still saw the bright light of the sniper's aura. If it was him, and her one on one... she could have a chance. Injured as she was, she suspected that he was still weaker than X-Rei. Otherwise, they most likely would have sent him instead with the others as backup. 

She turned to look at his bright red aura. Most likely high tier or higher... but if her suspects were right, he was still weaker than her. She dashed into an alley, and turned her ability off so that she didn't emit an aura, and hid herself. Blyke, thrown off, paused and looked down into the alley on top of the building. He didn't see her, so he proceeded to jump down and search. 

Volcan: Mistake on your part. 

Blyke turned rapidly to find Volcan standing behind him, her claws flaming, as she slammed her fist into his head, knocking him out. She picked him up. 

Volcan: Might need him for some info. Maybe as a test subject too. 

She grabbed her phone from one of her inner pockets, and typed in something. 

Chatroom

Volcan: I think I have a new subject we might need to test. 

Volcan: Not sure what his name is, but he's in relation to X-Rei.

Remi: Ugh... wonder when Blyke's coming back. 

She had somehow made it back home in her state, and Elaine was coming to heal her. She felt horrible that she had to leave Blyke behind, but honestly in the state she was in, she would have just been more work. She would have to trust Blyke on this. 

Elaine: Helllooo? 

Remi: Come in Elaine! 

Remi walked over to open the door. She saw Anya and a girl walk past... with white hair! 

Remi dashed over and grabbed the girl's hand. 

Remi: YOU!

She looked positively startled. 

Girl: Uh... may I help you?

Remi's mind cleared once more, and dropped the girl's hand. 

Remi: Oh... oh sorry. I acted a little impulsively. 

The girl brushed off her arm a bit. 

Girl: It's okay. I'm Julie! I obv know you, Remi!! 

Anya: She's now my bestie. Right Julie?

Julie nodded and the two left, waving. 

Remi and Elaine came inside, Remi sighing and sitting down on her bed. 

Remi: What's with me these days... ugh.
