ch 2

"valerie!" ashton screamed as val began even closing the door behind her, with calum not far from her. he was calling luke or something.

"ashton!" she mocked and sat next to him on the couch, poking his dimples as he smiled at her.

that caught calums attention and he walked, his phone still against his ear, luke screaming at some boy i didn't know.

"shut up, i'm talking to hemmo." he said as ashton and she heard their conversation. for some reason he was inviting luke over, yet she didn't know if ashton really wanted that. her with two other boys wouldn't be fun.

"but valerie is here!" calum whined as luke just chuckled, it being muffled by the phone. val always thought his laugh was super cute, and he was super cute, but she had to keep her mouth shut.

"can i bring roe?" she heard him ask and she tensed up. she never really liked roe that much, there would always be rumors she was cheating with her brother, which was not true, but she definitely could be cheating. they also disliked each other because val liked luke, but she no longer can.

"yeah. i don't care. just hurry up." he said as he hung up then stared at her and just smiled. she stared straight on back, really enjoying just staring at his face.

"don't stare at my sister like that." ashton laughed and got up, going up to calum to begin a conversation she wasn't interested in much.

she sat there, beginning the first chapter of ten tiny breaths by k.a. tucker, even though that didn't last long since she heard a doorbell being rung several times.

"luke!" she yelled and got up, putting the book face down, the page still open, "calm your tits!"

she heard two laughs, one being the adorable one she loved, and the other roe's which was a slight giggle, still cuter than hers.

she walked to the door and immediately looked at luke in the eyes. he had his maroon snapback on, a black sweater, and the regular lip ring, black skinny jeans, and black converse.

roe ran to ashton and hugged him, since they were best friends, like luke and valerie. so, she hugged luke and he hugged back, picking her off of the ground and wrapping his arms at her waist.

she was giggling and had her arms tight around his neck. this boy made her so very happy. luke kissed her jaw and she blushed. "no kisses." she mumbled against the side of his neck.

"i do what i want," he said, val expecting a "because i'm punk rock" after that but she didn't hear it, "i want to break up with roe." he said quietly.

"you're not doing that for m-"

"of course not," he said and her heart shattered, "she is just annoying and too clingy. i love her and all, but she is just always around. that's why i haven't seen you." he explained and let her down gently.

"i.." she said and looked back at calum, then ashton and roe, "o..okay." she said and walked back to her book, then lying down and focusing on the words in front of her.

after a few minutes of reading, hands touched her legs and she jumped a bit. seeing calum and luke lifting her legs so they could sit with her legs draped over them.

"hey, why did you act so upset after i told you about roe?" luke asked and valerie needed to think of a lie quickly.

"i'm on my period." she said quickly and quietly, making calum chuckle and shake his head at her.

"you could've just told us you were moody. we didn't need to know you were bleeding from your vagina and that we can't bang you or anything." luke said and got ashtons attention. she swore quietly and prayed luke wouldn't get in trouble because of her stating a fact (it wasn't true) and him saying what's on his mind.

"you are not banging my sister," ashton said and hit lukes chest, "that's for a fact."

roe was giggling at her boyfriend getting hit, but, she laughed at too much. "oh," she sighed, happily, "i wish i had a brother to be that protective. even though there's mr. hemmings who should be protective."

"about th-"

"luke," val rudely spoke over him, "can i talk to you about something? and it's not about banging." she glared at ashton and calum before taking her legs away and putting a bookmark in the book, then standing up and grabbing lukes hand.

they walked to valerie's small room. it had barely anything inside it, a bed with black and white sheets, some band posters (but not the ones with faces, they creep her out), a small closet full of mostly dark clothes (and shoes and bra's and all that stuff), then a dresser with some stuff on it.

she let go of luke's hand, and he closed the door behind them both. he took a moment of staring at her before sitting near her on the floor, looking up at her since she was on the bed, with a small smile on her face.

"so?" luke asked and grabbed her hands, biting at his lip ring, which was cute to val, and he knew that she thought it was cute, so he bothered her with it. "if we're talking about banging ashton will kill me if he hears. not that i would bang you.." he mumbled lightly and she laughed at his rambling.

"what do you think they're talking about?" roe asked and looked at ashton and calum, a smile slowly fading away from her lips as they just looked at each other. "do you guys know something about luke that i don't?"

"well, i have known him for like, three years and you haven't. you've known him for a year and a half, and five months of it is dating." ashton explained and shook his head at her slightly. "but i bet i know what they're talking about. luke's told me about what he plans to do soon." he told her, it obvious that he was talking about luke and roe and how long they could last.

"wait," roe said and sighed, pulling her knees up to her chest so she could hug them. "are you saying they're possibly talking bad about me? but all of you guys love me."

okay, lets just say that roe is kind of self-centered. she would always talk about how much luke loved her or that the rest of them loved her because she was so perfect, yet it really wasn't the case to all of them. only ashton really felt like she was an okay amount of perfect, just not enough to love her or always agree with her thoughts about her self, she wasn't like beyonce or anything, she was just roe grace, an eighteen year old girl who talks about herself far too much. that was the main thing everyone disliked about herself, obviously besides her.

"look, roe, your nice and cute and all of that stuff, but don't focus on us liking you. you have luke and your family to worry about. luke loves you and stuff. you guys will last long."

"roe!" luke yelled as he walked out of valerie's room, her still in there. "is it okay if we cancle our date tomorrow? i love you and stuff but," he lied, trying to think of an excuse, "i need to start looking for a six month gift for you."

i know this chapter was barely focused on calum or valerie, but i kinda want you guys to know more about roe and luke and ashton before i get into valum (yes thats their ship name)
