"valerie!" luke yelled, interrupting her from reading through the texts with tears swelling in her eyes.
"oh," she said and wiped her eyes swiftly, locking her phone and putting it under her leg, "you're fine! come in."
he walked into her room and immediately stared at her, probably looking for tears or stains on her cheeks or makeup running down her face. her face was only red, not a bright red, but her pale face was fading slowly into a light red. it didn't worry him, she was only like that because she was frustrated.
"hey," he sat next to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, forcefully leaning her against him, "yo-"
"goddamn it luke!" she felt the need to yell, and only yelled the last word. "you act like my boyfriend on the daily and im sick and tired of it. im okay, i can sing, i can dance. im fine, bitch." (congRATS TO YOU IF YOU KNOW WHERE THATS FROM) she pulled herself from his arms and her face was normal color again. all she needed was to take it out on someone beside herself. poor luke.
"im so sorry i care about you."
"you shouldn't be caring about me! you should be caring about roe or yourself! you act like im your main priority when i shouldn't be. and you shouldn't be loving me and kissing my cheek, you aren't my boyfriend and you won't be." her face turned that same color, the tears blurring her vision. "you can be the stupidest when it comes to my feelings. hurt me, and you have no idea what could happen. you could have me dead, just because you say something stupid, then you wouldn't care about anyone because you hurt me."
he sighed. rubbing his face, then standing up. "did calum really change you that much?" luke walked to the door and then looked back at her.
her face was still red and a few tears fell. "he seriously changed you into a bitch. especially to people who care about you."
ending that, he closed the door behind him and left.
valerie collapsed onto her bed, her tears drifting from her cheeks onto her black sheets.
she had to admit, she wasn't sad that luke or calum were upset or mad at her, she was upset because almost all of this was her fault. and not being good enough to other people was her biggest fear.
she cried for another five minutes until her eyes shut, another two tears dropping, then falling asleep.
valerie looked like a mess. makeup smeared, face red, stained cheeks. no one would be home for a while, she could clean herself up or ashton would worry and make her cry and be even sadder. she didn't worry. she just wanted to be out of reality for a while.
ashton and calum.
"mr. irwin, what a pleasure." calum leaned against the counter on a bar stool. his eyes were red, but he showed no emotion.
"what did you do to my sister?" ashton was obviously serious as can be, he cared about her and wanted the girl happy. his friend messing that side of her up was a big deal.
"i didn't do shit." he said and smiled, leaning his arms on the countertop. "i just had feelings for her and she started this argument. she made herself sad and i don't care. ive known her for what, seventy two hours, maybe?"
"god, calum," ashton scoffed, crossing his arms and staring at him. "you seriously didn't make her frown or almost cry? ive told you plenty and you seem to know that's she's sensitive."
"okay. maybe i said some shit to her but i didn't say much." he stood up and walked over to him. he had a stupid smile on his face. "but you shouldn't be worrying. she's almost eighteen, the seventh, right? she has to take care of herself. not you."
"you're no help." ashton shook his head. "besides you being an asshole, do you know anything about luke?"
"he hasn't said a word to me. i assume they are hanging out since he makes her so happy. you'll have to ask him."
just as calum was about to say something about luke and valerie to make ashton mad, his phone rang.
val irwin now: is ashton at your house?
calum hood now: yeah. why?
val irwin now: i would rather have him to talk to than no one. you left me alone with no apology so i have my brother left.
calum hood now: i thought luke was with you?
val irwin now: no. im alone and crying and tired. i need ashton, please just get him for me.
"valerie is crying over luke and probably me. go talk to her. she would rather see you than anyone else. at least im guessing." calum tucked his phone in his pocket.
"no. you're better at talking to someone sad. even though she hates you, go talk to her. make her happy and maybe we both won't hate your guts." ashton nodded his head at him as calum slowly grabbed the door handle.
