5:14 AM

"I'm so mad that I can't fall back to sleep, especially when I usually sleep all day." I sighed

I woke up from Chris initially. He jumped out on a limb and woke me up because he wanted to fuck—and surprisingly, I didn't mind.

He sighed, "Just let me hold you until you fall back to sleep." He said and put his arms around me

I knew he was sleepy, he was dozing off shortly after he pulled out.

"I'll try." I said and snuggled my face into his warm chest.

I heard him snoring within seconds, yet I was counting sheep trying to fall asleep.

I just laid here until what felt like forever later, an alarm was going off and he was waking up.

"What's that for?" I asked as he pulled away from me

"Damn, you still up?" He asked as he sat up

"Sadly."

He shook his head while wiping his eyes, "I got a um..." he started but he plopped back down on the bed

"I'm so tired—it's the continuance of the case, I told you it was today." He said and let out a deep sigh

"Oh yeah—I thought it was at 8." I said, realizing it was only 6 something.

"It is, I just need to give myself time to ass around." He said

I smiled, "I agree. I do the same thing." I sighed

"You think today will be the last day for this case?"

"I don't know but I hope so." He said

"I haven't seen you work since my case—I would like to see it again, you take charge out there and I love that." I said

"You think so?"

"I know so, I want to sit in on this one." I said

"You sure? It could last a couple hours and you haven't been back to sleep." He asked

"Yeah, I'm not sleepy and I definitely don't want to sit here while you're gone, so I don't mind sitting in." I said

"Okay, cool then."

I laid there while he got dressed and when he was almost done I brushed my teeth and put on some comfortable clothes.

"You ready, babe?" I heard him yell up the stairs

"Yeah, coming." I said and grabbed my phone and wallet.

I walked down the stairs and he smiled at me as I made my way to him.

"Why are you smiling?"

"Look at yo' stomach—I think it's bigger." He said and rested a hand on it

"I think it's the shirt, it's a bit snug." I said

"Nah, your stomach got bigger." He said and playfully rolled his eyes. He headed to the door,

"Wait! I'm going to be starving and we won't have time to stop so let me grab half of your cabinet."
I said and went into the kitchen

I opened my purse and tossed in enough snacks to last me some hours, and went into the refrigerator to grab a Gatorade and a water.

"Got everything you need?" He sarcastically asked

"If I don't I know we'll be stoppin' somewhere on our way back."
