It had been 1 month since the funeral. Jake had been spending his time at work. While occasionally going out to the bar to drink away his pain. And by occasionally he went nightly.
It had become something of a routine for him. Go to work. Become miserable from hating his job. And than going out and getting drunk in order to feel something other than misery.
As he laid on his couch that day his door suddenly came sliding wide open as his friend of about two years came barging in like he owned the place.
"Bro! He shouted excitedly! I got us a way into the biggest party in town and their is going to be so many girls and drinkin- and HEY!" He stopped looking around Jake's disaster of an apartment.
"What the heck happened to you, this place is a mess. It looks worse than the time I was dating that real artsy chick. How can you live like this?" he asked with genuine concern.
"Jake I keep telling you this cause im your friend, just sell your Grandpas farm and get some upgrades in your life."
Jake moaned in agony.
"Jacob, remind me why I gave you a key to my apartment."
Jacob glared at Jake.
"It's because I'm the only person telling you how it is, now lets go. We got a party to sneak into!
"Woah hold up." Jake looked at his friend confused. "I thought you said you had a way into this party.
"Duh," Jacob said. "Were going 'into' whatever spot of the house isn't being guarded.
"Well I have nothing better to do," Jake thought." What's the worst that can happen?"
Jake threw on some nicer clothes, fixed his messy brown hair, and took a minute to really stare at himself. He almost couldn't recognize what he was seeing. His brown eyes were beginning to look red. His eyes drooping. He looked disgustingly tired. And yet one shot of some of Jacob's "Magic Juice" and he was ready to go.
As they drove to the house dark and heavy clouds begun to make their way into the city. Within the hour it had started to rain.
"Hey Jake, do you think she would ever take me back?"
Jake was surprised. Usually his friend never talked about the girls he dated.
"Well I, um to be honest man, I never met her, and you barely talked about her."
"Oh right" Jacob mumbled. Jake sensing his friends sadness decided to change the topic.
"So about this Party" Jake started.
Yeah! It's suppose to be THE place for celebrities!" Jacob excitedly stated. "I think I might even hook up with a really hot actress or maybe a famous singer!"
The two of them began laughing as they made their way towards the mansion.
"Holy rich!" Jacob shouted. "This place is going to be wild!"
The music could be heard from the gate. Lights were flashing all throughout the house. The pool was glowing a beautiful aquatic blue. While guests happily jumped in screaming and cheering their friends on.
Unfortunately right when Jake begun to think how fun this night could turn out the security guard stopped them from going any farther.
"License and Name he barked."
Jacob confidently walked right up to him.
"Jacob, I'm a friend of Missy. He proudly stated."
The guard checked his list.
