Jake could feel his pounding from his skull. His whole body throbbing in worse pain than he had ever experienced from a night out.

"What happened to me last night?" Jake looked around, this was his room. His apartment. Jacob must have taken me home. Everything was a blur. Jake tried his best to think about what happened but instead he saw nothing.

"Weird" he muttered to himself. He started to undress in order to take a shower. Just as he took off his socks he noticed the envelope peeking out from under his bed. It was the one Lewis had given him right when his Grandpa had died. Jake looked around him. His place was a mess. He was a mess. Seeing that letter brought tears to Jakes eyes. Sadness he had kept inside for so long began pouring out.

His Grandpa meant the world to him. He would do anything for him and yet here he was miserable alone in his room. His only friend a lunatic willing to sneak into parties. As he hopped into the shower the warm water hitting his body began to feel refreshing. As he got out and changed a gentle knock could be heard from his door.

"Who could that be" Jake pondered. As he opened the door he looked to see the one person he thought he would never see again. It was Lewis.

"Good morning Jake, I came to check up on you."

As lewis walked inside. Jake stared in disbelief.

"Lewis?" Jake asked. "What are you doing here. How did you know where I lived?"

"You don't remember?" Lewis said in confusion. "I brought you here after the party last night. You know, the one you and your friend were certainly not invited to."

Jake didn't know what to say. It was clear from Lewis and his tone that Jake had messed up.

"Lewis" he started.

"I wasn't finished speaking" Lewis interrupted. "Jake your friend is in jail for intoxication. He's most likely getting into huge trouble for driving under the influence. As for you, Jake, I know its hard losing someone close to you. This isn't a good way for you to be spending your time."

Jake felt like a kid being reprimanded by a parent. Lewis was right he couldn't argue about that. But Jacob was in jail. Lewis was at the party? His head began to hurt even worse than before.

"Lewis, Im sorry I need to take something for my headache. Last night I had about two drinks and the next thing I knew, I was lying in bed."

Lewis simply nodded. "I must say I never thought I would bump into you again."

Jake swallowed some pills, Lewis he asked, What were you doing at that party anyways. Not that I'm not grateful or anything. "

Lewis smiled and answered.

"I normally don't attend those types of parties but I am the mayor of Stardew so occasionally I will go make an appearance. Among other things."
He smiled.
It was at this moment Jake suddenly realized.
"Oh shoot!" He shouted. "Lewis I am so sorry but I'm going to be late for work."
Jake scrambles to gather his things and prepare for another work day.

Lewis got up and began walking to the door.

"Jake, I want you to know that no matter what you do with your life. You will always be welcome in our little town."
As Lewis walked out the front door Jake ran as fast as he could to make it to work on time.
