My name is Jasmine Addison a brown skin girl with a long brown curly hair. I have a hairy skin that people jealous. I grew up in London with my mother in a two bedroom apartment. My mom is an American while my father was born and bread here.

My father passed away when I was two and so my mother had to work extra hours to be able to bring food to the table and cater for my school needs and also save some for our rent. She is a nursery school teacher and the pay is very scanty so she is waitress at a hotel in the neighborhood and the payment from there has been supporting us.
    
I have a childhood friend who is called Ashton yeah you are right he is a guy and two other female friends Zoe and Audley my partners in crime. Ashton is from a rich family so he sometimes take me out and shop for me. He is like a brother. He has been helpful to me since I can remember and the only thing I do to help him is to help him with his assignments because I am brilliant than him.

I will be starting college at king's College here in London it's one of the best and highest paid colleges in London and offers all kinds of program. You might be wondering why I chose that school when my mother struggles to put food on the table, well I am on scholarship. The scholarship covers only tuition fees so I have to walk from home to school instead of being in the hostel like everyone else.

King's College is for the elites and the high class and I don't know if I will fit in because I know how annoying these spoilt rich kids can be. Anyways my three friends schools there so I know I won't be lonely.  Zoe and Audley stays in the hostel while Ashton go to school from home.

School resumed two weeks ago but I haven't stepped a foot in school because I had to help mom raise some money for me to get my books and new dresses for school, so I got a job at a nearby coffee shop.

I have to start school tomorrow even though I haven't bought all my books. Political science is a tough program that one has to get a lot of books at his or her disposal.

I plopped on my small bed after completing a novel by an American writer Richard Wright titled NATIVE SON which was written in 1940. The story is about a 20 year old black boy whose name was Bigger Thomas. After bigger landed in the biggest job of his life. Working with the Dalton's is a far cry from the one bedroom apartment he shares with his mom and siblings. This lead him to commit a  terrible crime by killing his boss's daughter and cut her up and burned her in the furnace in the Dalton's house. He later killed his girlfriend.

He was arrested and was sentenced to death by electric chair. The story ends with Bigger waiting in his cell to be taken to the room where he will be put to death.

"Poor thing (Bigger)." I thought.

I  pulled my iphone 7 Ashton gave me from under my pillow and dialed Ashton's number, he answered after the first ring. I wouldn't dare try calling Zoe or Audrey because by this time they are at the club having fun. I sometimes wonder how we became friends because we are too opposite but very similar, they are very fun to be around with.

"Oh My God Jasmy! I was about to call you." His feminine like voice said from the other side of the phone.

"There you go again, you are always about to call me." I said.

"I am so sorry trust me. I wanted to come and pick you up after school so that we go and hang out at the mall and get you some new clothes for school but something came up." He said and I knew he was telling the truth.
