Haneul could be anywhere, with anyone, so it is beyond Dae Ho as to why he stands on his front porch in a fluorescent graphic tee and white cargo pants, a bandana contrasting his red hair and face as bright as the summer's sun, with a stupid, wide grin and sparkly eyes at seven o'clock in the morning.
For a month, Haneul kept Dae Ho company, helping him with accepting his grandma's death. The doctor did most of the talking with Dae Ho listening to him intently about the instances from Haneul's life. He got to know much more about his family. The things Haneul disclosed about his family concluded that even if he didn't work for a day, he could live luxuriously for the rest of his life. His father is a CEO of a multimillion company dealing with hotels and resorts. His mother is in the fashion business, owning jewelry stores and clothing lines. Lastly, his older brother is an actor, loved and wanted by all.
All the three individuals appeared on news and interviews, except for Haneul. If he made it into the news, it was because he was the 'youngest heir of the Kims' or the 'brother of Kim Hanbin'. Haneul was never comfortable with being out in the public, the attention making him nervous. Dae Ho knew who the Kims were but he never thought Haneul was their son.
"You're hurting my eyes," Dae Ho groans, rubbing his eyes and twisting his body to unwind. His eyes are still half-closed, raven hair sticking out in all directions and mouth dry.
"I give you an hour to get ready, wear presentable clothes. Don't w-" the door slams shut in Haneul's face. "Park Dae Ho! How dare you!" Haneul exclaims, offended being shut out. He bangs the door till Dae Ho opens it back.
"Go away, I want to rest."
Haneul pushes Dae Ho to the side and invites himself in and sits on the couch. "We have a lot to do today, you better get moving," Haneul says folding his legs and leaning into the couch.
"Where are we going?" Dae Ho asks, still not willing to leave the house.
"You ask too many questions, young man."
"Young man?" Dae Ho scoffs, rolling his eyes. "If anything, you're the younger one here."
Haneul clicks his tongue in disapproval. "Jisoo is two years younger than me, what makes you think you're older?" He challenges, arching a brow. "And I have official certificates to prove it."
"...."
Dae Ho clears his throat. "I'll just go get changed."
In the months Dae Ho has known him, Haneul has proved to him that he was here to stay. He wasn't going to leave when he uncovers Dae Ho's past. Even though Haneul is nosy and troublesome, he has become a strong presence and attachment for Dae Ho. The fighter wouldn't admit it out loud but Haneul has changed him in ways he never thought he would change. It wasn't a deliberate change, just a change that happened naturally after meeting Haneul.
After refreshing himself and changing his clothes, Dae Ho stands in front of Haneul, a white undershirt topped with a denim jacket and black skinny jeans.
Haneul looks at him inquisitively. "Woah! Never thought you'd have anything other than black in your wardrobe. I was starting to think you're colorblind. You surprise me." He laughs getting up from the couch and heading to the main door. "You're fast, it didn't even take you half an hour to get ready."
"Not everyone shits money like you and has a skincare routine." Dae Ho muses, locking the door and heading out.
"Whatever." The doctor dismisses him with a wave of his hand. "Let's get breakfast at Subway and then we can head towards our destination."
