Amber's POV:I quickly pack away all my books and my rose gold pencil case into my new black tote handbag and stand in front of the mirror. I had to buy a bigger bag than last year, since I'm doing year 11 now. That means more work to be bringing home and more books to carry around.
Although I'm not exactly a fan of the uniform, it could have been much worse. It's a black pencil skirt, or if you don't want to wear that, which most girls don't, grey tights or black straight trousers - I chose the trousers of course. A white button up t-shirt and a black blazer or a grey cardigan. I chose the blazer.
Yeah I've decided it's not that bad after all.
I grab a hair tie from my table and tie up my light brown waist length hair in a messy pony. Pony tails are the only things I can do to my hair since I'm pretty much useless when it comes to any other hairstyle. Honestly, I need Allana to teach me. For real , there's nothing she can't do.
Leaning forward towards the mirror, I take a closer look at myself and the insecurities came flying in. Wow, they're pretty early today. Sarcasm is a part of my vocabulary, everyone that knows me knows that.
I mean, I guess I'm average looking, freckles here and there and hazel green eyes. And a natural tan you can't find in a bottle. I thank my mum's side of the family for that. The South Asian side. You guessed it, that makes me half Pakistani and half British. You know, coz my dad's white.
But Oh my Gosh I have the worst eye bags ever, dark and dented little twats. Probably coz of my low iron ( thanks mum ). Plus my skin is starting to give up on me too and I'm getting these random little spots, that are not disappearing no matter how many face masks and skincare routines I do.
Your probably thinking I'm one of them girls who are obsessed with the way they look but I'm honestly not. I can probably go without beauty products for a long time and I have before. I don't even wear makeup but that's probably because I have no idea how to even wear makeup. I can just about to do a decent winged liner and apply mascara.
The makeup and looks department is more of Lilly's forte / speciality than mine to be honest.
Lilly and Ebony are my best friends, they've helped me through a lot and have been my best friend ever since Lilly shared her colouring book with me in nursery and Ebony shared her colours. I guess you could say it was fate.
Physically, Lilly's a Barbie doll. She's 100% Greek and so a natural beauty. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. However, along with the beauty she has the brains. Lilly is also more famously known in our school as the life of the party and when it's the three of us together it's a storm. There's never a dull day with them around, unless Ebony's in a bad mood or Lilly's texting someone.
Ebony beats any stereotype you may have of a typical wasian girl. She's loud and not exactly really clever but she's not dumb either.
I look up to see what time it is and I see that I have about five minutes before Lilly's mum arrives to pick me up. So I decide to pull out my small pink primary school memory box and revel in the memories of when times were easier. I find a picture of me, Ebony and Lilly all hugging each other and smiling with our teeth.
Unfortunately, Ebony's faced a lot of racism and discrimination in the past. Her dad is Japanese and so when she's seen with him she's not made to feel welcome by some absolute low life's whose biggest achievement will probably be bagging a 2 for 1 on crisps.
Fortunately, I don't really face as much racism as her coz I'm very white passing. Literally the only feature I got from my Pakistani side was the my skin colour, my hair colour and my eye colour.

Who did it ?
Cerita PendekSomething's wrong, I can just feel it. "Are you okay ?" Ebony says instead, concern etched in her voice. "Yeah of course I'm fine. " She replies whilst lifting her hand to place it on Ebony's shoulder almost trying to reassure her, but it clearly do...
