The group were all in Erin's room for a study sleepover Erin was sitting on her bed with a picture frame in her hand as the others sat on the floor studying or kind of studying "I just can't get my head around it" Erin said mournfully "the fact that he's gone. Forever"
"It's so sad, it really is, it is so, so sad, but at the same time, you know, what's done is done, so let's crack on," Clare told the sad girl trying to get her to study for their test.
"Oh, I'm sorry Clare, has his sudden death interrupted your studies?" Erin asked Clare slightly outraged that Clare wasn't understanding her overdramatic mourning.
"It has a bit, actually, yeah" Clare nodded ignoring Erin or maybe she had just had so many energy drinks that she had become oblivious to anything that wasn't to do with studying.
"How can you be so heartless?" Erin questioned the short, caffeinated girl.
"Don't cry Erin, he's in a better place now." Alana gently said to her cousin but that was all ruined when Orla added "unless he's not, you know, unless he's gone to hell" which made Erin gape.
"Can we please talk about something else? I'm half torn, this is wrecking my head" Michelle complained,
"What? Have you been drinking?" Erin asked shocked but Michelle nodded and answered nonchalantly "yes, I have. And for future reference, if any of you invite me to a study sleepover again and I'm desperate enough to accept that invitation, there's a good chance I have a litre bottle of Pernod in my bag." Before she started opening the bottle of alcohol.
"I shouldn't even have to sit the exam. On, you know, compassionate grounds." Erin started speaking about her loss again which finally set Clare off.
"he was a dog, Erin!" Clare shouted at the girl who then turned the picture frame around to show a picture of toto with her grandad and said "Toto was much more than a dog! Toto was my best friend!"
"Christ, I feel a bit boaky," Michelle said, which wasn't surprising since she had been drinking all night before she went over to the window and opened the curtains and window to reveal daylight.
"Sweet sufferin' Jesus, it's the morning already! What are we going to do?" Clare screeched.
"Well, maybe we could start with calming the fuck down" Michelle ordered the blonde who just shrieked back in return "Calm down? We're still on William of orange, Michelle, we haven't so much looked at famine"
"We've got the gist, they ran out of spuds, everyone was ragin'," Michelle told Clare and Alana nodded in agreement from her space between James and Orla.
"Well, I can't tell my rebellions from my risings." James shook his head as he looked through the book on his lap in confusion, but Michelle held no sympathy for her cousin and snapped at him "And who's fault is that? If your lot had stopped invading us for fuck fucking minutes there'd be a lot less to wade through! English prick."
