"the president of the united states, Bill Clinton, a committed supporter of the peace process, will visit with both sides of the community during his trip to Belfast before travelling to Londonderry" the man on the radio spoke as the McCool Quinn clan minus Joe listened in excitement.

"He's here!" Joe burst into to the house and through to the kitchen shouting "He's here! He's landed!"

"I know he has, Da!" Mary exclaimed as she got off the kitchen floor "and look at the state of the place!"

"I better tell Jim across the road" Joe told his family before leaving again as Mary was still looking around her house in a state of panic.

"Christ, I'm at me wits end!" Mary informed in a stressed voice.

"Firstly, he's not coming to Derry until tomorrow" Gerry started to attempt to calm his wife.

Who quickly interrupted his as she came behind Sarah who was doing Orla's hair and remarked "Have you seen the heck of those skirting boards, Gerry I need at least a week to tackled them"

But Gerry remained calm as he attempted to get his wife to understand how the presidential visit was going to work "And secondly, I think it's unlikely he'll call to our house"

"He might call Gerry" Mary reasoned as she ran about the place.

"Aye he might take a notion" Sarah said in a much calmer voice as she smoked her cigarette that Orla was holding a second ago.

"I think presidential visits are quite carefully planned. I'm not sure there's an awful lot of room for notion taking" Gerry informed the sisters as Sarah gave her cigarette back to Orla so she could plait her hair.

"Hope you're right, Gerry. For it's like Beirut in here." Mary said to her husband in a tone that crossed between threatening and stressed before she picked up a mug and asked "I mean, when was the last time these were bleached? I couldn't hand Hillary that."

"I'd say she'd keep her place shining Mary." Sarah inputted unhelpfully and Mary sighed "Sure, she'd put you to shame" as she walked away from the table.

"Right" Joe called out as he entered the kitchen "We need to clear this table Jim's bringing his equipment over"

"What equipment?" Gerry asked cluelessly.

"The aul radio transmitters he collects. Him and Daddy think they can tap into the CIA's system on them" Mary informed her husband who looked appalled at the thought.

"Excuse me?" Gerry asked in shock.

"Jim really buzzes off radio contact" Sarah explained calmly.

"You cannot tap the CIA Joe" Gerry tried to tell his father in law who in return tried to reason with "It'll make tracking Clinton down much easier"
