"As you all know, at the beginning of term, the bishop graciously bestowed piece of religious art onto Our Lady Immaculate College, the enchanting Child of Prague" Sister Michael announced before she walked over to where the statue was on a stand covered by a bit of cloth and revealed it proudly as James looked at it confused before Sister Michael carried on with the assembly "Sure, isn't he a great fella altogether?"

"I still don't get what it's supposed to be." James told the girls who all looked at him with slight confusion before Michelle told her cousin "It's Jesus as a wain" which made James nod before he asked, "why has he got a big red hat on?"

"Nobody knows," Alana told him as she too looked at the statue of Jesus with a big red hat on his head which confused pretty much everybody.

"It was the bishop's wish that he be passed around all the schools in the Derry diocese. Therefore, we are joined this morning by Mr Malone, headmaster of St Benedict's, so that the handover ceremony can take place. You're very welcome, Mr Malone. Though I fear you may have had a wasted journey. I've thought about it, and I'd much rather just hold on to him, actually. He brightens up my office. He doesn't answer back" Sister Michael looked away from Mr Malone and back to her students at this sentence as the girls all looked away awkwardly knowing they definitely talked back "I like the fella. And if the bishop has a problem with that, he can take it up with me. Now what else was there?" she was given her notes by the teacher standing between her and Mr Malone before she started to talk to her students again "Yes. Sadly, Sister Patrick decided to leave us. She's returning to her missionary work, educating the heathen inhabitants of a primitive and savage place"

"She's taken a teaching post in Belfast, Sister" the teacher standing next to her reminded and Sister Michael simply nodded in reply "precisely. The board of governors promised me that her replacement would arrive today, but as usual, they were talking out there-" she was cut off by the loud bang of the doors which gathered everyone's attention to see a woman in black pants, a red and black leather jacket holding a motorbike helmet with winged liner as she announced "I believe you've been expecting me" which made the girls all look at her in awe as Sister Michael rolled her eyes and said "here we go"

As the girls and James were sat in their class they watched their new teacher who was now wearing a stylish tan suit write her name on the blackboard which they had discovered it was Ms De Brun, before she pinged the chalk across the classroom and sat down silently in her desk chair before she closed her eyes.

Seconds of silence passed before Jenny put her hand up but when she was not answered to she spoke up and asked: "what is it we should be doing, miss?"
