"Do be do be do be do be do, It's Monday morning. Hip hip hooray. Let's get going. It's a brand-new day" Jenny sung as her friends repeated every sentence she sung. The four were surrounding one microphone wearing pinstripe jackets and the entire assembly hall was looking as if they were insane. "It's Monday morning. Come on, lets go. Paint on a smile and start the show. Dum dum dum dum." They continued as Michelle and Alana shared an exasperated look and Orla go closer in terror to the girl next to her "Oh, Monday morning. There ain't nothing that I-I-I can't do. Do bee doo bee doo, oh Monday morning, Monday morning I love you" Jenny finished it off with and awful note and the group did jazz hands and no one really knew what to do after that.

"Lovely" Sister Michael forced out after no one clapped "and I believe you wrote the lyrics yourselves, is that correct?"

"it is Indeed sister" Jenny smiled proudly and in response Sister Michael asked "Do you ever think you might have too much time on your hands girls?" which caused the girls' smiles to slip off their faces before the woman got up and ordered "lose the jackets"

"okay just a couple of things" Sister Michael started to inform "firstly I'd like to introduce Mae Cheung. Can you make yourself known, please, Mae?" and from a couple of rows behind the girls an Asian girl raised her hand

"Miss Cheung's family have recently moved here to Derry, so I hope you'll all make her feel welcome. It's bound to be a bit of a culture shock, Mae. See, things are done differently in this part of the world. But I'm sure you'll feel as at home here as you did back in your beloved Donegal" Sister Michael spoke giving everyone the impression that the girl was actually from Asia.

"Where's Donegal?" Alana asked James puzzled

"I think it's somewhere in China" James whispered back to her a complete guess.

"Announcement from Jenny Joyce and the dance committee" Sister Michael carried on now reading from a piece of paper "The school social event of the year is fast approaching, but before you don your glad rags... and boogie on dow-"

The nun stopped reading the piece of paper and stated sounding embarrassed "I'm sorry but I simply cannot read this" before walking back to her seat handing a smug Jenny her piece of paper to read off of.

"But before you don your glad rags and boogie on down, we'd like to let you in on our little secret we're not actually going to have school formal this year" jenny carried on reading causing gasps, scowls and mutterings to appear in the crowd before her before she carried on "No listen, we're not gonna have a school formal, we're going to have..."

Her friends gave a little "doo bee doo bee doo bee doo bee doo bee doo" which made Michelle roll her eyes before Jenny announced, "We're going to have a fifties prom!"
