"Already? It's started already?" Mary moaned about the noises outside as she pulled a bright yellow suitcase out of the lounge into the entry of the kitchen.

"I think it's just a rehearsal, love" Gerry tried to soothe his wife from where he was sat at the kitchen table with the rest of the family minus Sarah.

"They've been playing the same song since 1795, what do they need rehearsal for?" Mary asked rhetorically.

"Well, practice makes perfect, Aunt Mary. You know that is why they are so cracker." Orla spoke up as she drummed two wooden spoons on her knees.

"I'm sorry? Did you just call the orange order 'cracker'?" Erin asked Orla and then shifted her gaze to her other cousin who was drinking her cup of tea as if asking if her sister was being serious.

"I'm considering joining" Orla nodded with wide eyes which made Erin tell her "I don't think they accept Catholics, Orla, or, you know, acknowledge our right to exist."

"Give us a hand here, Gerry. This'll not close" Mary panted as her husband but the baby in the crib. "We need to shift ourselves! We're the last Fenians standing."

"Relax, love, we've got a good two or three hours before the rioting stars." Joe tried to calm his eldest daughter.

"I'll not settling myself until we're over that border, Da," Mary told him.

"Are you absolutely sure we need the big clock, love?" Gerry asked as he opened the suitcase to reveal the large wall clock.

"We've been through this, Gerry" Mary stressed.

"Definitely don't want to bring the wee clock?" Gerry tried but Mary only shouted back "I can't be doing with the wee clock!"

"What's your problem with the big clock?" Joe started which made Gerry sigh and answer "I wouldn't say I have a problem, as such, it's just much heavier and takes up a lot of room." Which only set Joe off as he started to rant "I'm telling you, Mary, that's how its starts now he's dictating what size clock you can pack. Next, you'll be telling you what to wear, what to say. Before you know it, you'll be faking your own death and assuming a new identity."

"Erin, I told you not to let him watch Sleeping with The Enemy." Mary scolded her daughter.

"Couldn't stop him mammy" Erin told her mother unapologetically.

"Great show" Alana commented which made Mary sigh and say "Don't tell me you've let Alana watch it, she's already got enough worried in her head with this whole true love thing she doesn't need to stress over the fact he could actually kill her"

"Sorry, Mammy" Erin sighed realising that perhaps her cousin nor her granda should be watching the crime tv show.

"Stick that in the boot," Mary told Gerry as they zipped up the suitcase.
