Two days have passed and Jin kept his word about staying at the wake funeral. He was also at Nayeon's side as soon as her father's ashes arrived at the columbarium.
"Nayeon-ssi forget about work, if you want to spend some time alone and mourn,you can" Jin said as he hands over a bottled water to the girl.
"Thank you, but I need to pick myself up, sooner the better" Nayeon said
"Stupid girl" Brian whispered
"It's fine Im Nayeon-ssi" Jin stated as he stroke the girl's head
"Yeah it is" Brian said,who managed to tap away Jin's hand without Nayeon noticing.
Jin just tilted his head on the other boy, amused actually.
"Can he and I talk?" Brian added
"Yeah sure I'm gonna say goodbye to appa" Nayeon stood up and headed inside
"Okay, What are you up to DOC?" Brian wasted no time as soon as Nayeon was inside.
"Ahhhh, am I being too subtle?" Jin asked cocking an eyebrow
"You're not gonna get her" Brian spoke
"I'm sorry, but" Jin paused and took a step closer to Brian.
"Watch me" He added before completely leaving the other guy.
Brian strongly held back everything,trying hard not to punch Jin.
For the next few days the two guys started their hidden competition for the girl's heart, which to their own dismay was left unnoticed by Nayeon.
Brian started to walk Nayeon to her new home.
Jin made sure not to give the girl extra chores, he gives her rides to the university from time to time.
Nayeon on the other hand is focused on school, work, and especially her Father's case. A film student studying medical work is quite hard, She wanted to ask for Jin's help but could not manage to do so due to their busy schedules.
With all the books found inside the house,she managed to learn some basic emergency knowledge in a few weeks.
After the weeks of him being at the hospital, Jin decided to come home and rest a bit.
"Hello, I'm home" He greeted as he carefully take off his shoes.
"Oh?! You should have called so I can preare you some dinner!" Nayeon frantically close the books laying on the dinner table
"Nice to see you too...medical books?" Jin pondered
"Yeah I'm sorry, I took them without your permission" Nayeon said sheepishly
"It's fine, but you're not in the medical field, studying my books alone would be hard for you" Jin said as he scan's her notes
"I just want to understand my father's death a little bit better" Nayeon stated as she prepares herself to cook
"Oh, Nayeon stop, I already brought food, I just forgot to bring them in" Jin hurriedly ran out, Nayeon tailing him just in case he needed some help, which he did because, other than food, he brought groceries too.
"This is my work why'd you hire me if you're gonna do it yourself?" Nayeon sneered
"Well it was an uneventful day at work,and I was stressed for the last few weeks, I needed to get out of there and do something else" Jin said as he place the bags on the counters
"You should've atleast called me, I could have accompany you" Nayeon insisted
"Aww you missed me that much?" Jin beamed and pinch the girl's cheek lightly
Flustered, Nayeon just glared at the guy.
"Gwiyeoun Agi" Jin giggled
With made Nayeon a blushing mess
