'I was sitting on the couch when I heard a noise coming from behind me. I wheeled around to see a man that I didn't recognize with a long knife in his right hand. Blood trickled down the corner of his mouth, and I sprang up, almost hitting the reading light. I backed up into the kitchen, grabbing a knife of my own. But I had turned my back, in that instant, his blade plunged into my back. It seared with pain and I screamed. Falling to the floor, I realized it had snapped a few of my ribs. He leaned over me and whispered into my ear, "I know what you are and you do not belong in this world. Therefore, I shall send you to where you do belong, into the depths of hell itself, along with your other friends that live here." At that very moment, I heard another blade plunge into a body and I was thankful it wasn't mine. The man collapsed on top of me and I see Allison standing there with a frightened expression on her face. She was getting farther and farther from view. Her mouth was moving but none of her words were eligible. Now, I couldn't see her at all. In fact, everything was black and everything was still.'
"Izzy! Izzy! Someone get a bucket of ice water, she's burning up!" someone was saying. Slowly, things began coming back into view. First I saw Amirah and Madison. Then I saw some of the others, who were very blurry until I blinked it away. I felt a cold washcloth bang onto my forehead and I had to admit, it felt good.
That's when I noticed the sweat trickling down my face and back. I tried to sit up but something was keeping me down. As I looked more closely, I realized it was someone. And that someone was Amirah, who was also keeping the washcloth on my head. I looked around the room and began taking mental notes: I was laying on a bed; which one I had no idea, the wound on my body was gone; someone must have cleaned it up, and Allison was nowhere to be seen. If she takes the time to save my life, why isn't she here?
"Are you ok?" Amirah asked, stroking my forehead with the towel. I looked around a little more closely before answering. Kelly was sitting on a chair, looking very intent for an answer, Alex was sitting in the chair next to him with Raven in his lap, and Elena and Madison were sitting on my 'sick' bed at the edge.
I answered about a minute later, having thoroughly thought out something to say, "I guess about ok as I'd ever be after being stabbed. However, it looks like someone did a great job healing me. Those were some pretty fatal wounds to my ribs." All six of them exchanged looks at each other. Kelly and Alex, Raven and Elena, and Amirah and Madison. Finally, someone spoke up.
"Izzy, you weren't stabbed in the ribs," Kelly said, looking at me sideways. That was never a good sign, "Amirah said you fainted after she told you what happened."
"I know," I said, "I mean after that when I awoke on the couch with that guy behind me. The one with a malicious grin. The one who said that we didn't belong here. He said we belonged in Hell."Kelly and Alex began whispering to each other, I couldn't pick up anything they were talking about, though, but I knew it was about me and because they weren't talking aloud, it was probably something bad. Very bad. A few minutes passed and finally, Kelly looked up and said, "We think you might have had another one of your visions. Was there anything else in your vision that you think you might want to tell us about?"
I shook my head, "No, it wasn't a vision," I insisted, "Ask Allison, she saved my life!" I heard Elena take in a larger amount of breath than usual and Kelly stood up so quickly, you could have thought that a parent had walked in and you were doing something you shouldn't. He, then, proceeded to fast walk out of the room and didn't come back for several minutes.
When he did, he helped me into a sitting position, "It appears that you were seeing through the eyes of," he paused and leaned into my ear and whispered, "Hailey."
I gave him a look and he understood and leaned back. And after a few seconds, I said, "I didn't know that I could see through the eyes of anyone other than myself."
He thought for a few minutes and then replied, "Maybe you've always looked through other people's eyes, you've just always thought they were yours."
I thought about this for a moment and realized that there have been times that I've talked to people I didn't know but they felt so familiar, like friends almost, but they weren't mine. They had to have been the person I was seeing through. It's just everything just felt so real. Nothing felt fake, that's why I had always assumed that they were my eyes I was seeing out of. But I guess it made sense on the note of the fact that I was never actually there, physically, because I was always laying in bed or just sitting down.
"So that must mean when I was watching the beam of light close, I was watching through the eyes of someone not trying to run towards the light. This means that I might have been seeing through the eyes of someone who helped to close or did close the beam," I said, thinking out each word carefully.
Kelly froze for a second before he said, "Did you notice anything unusual about the person you were seeing through by any chance? Like anything on his hands, for instance?" He had gone as white as a sheet and Amirah had gotten up and taken him out of the room.
"Izzy," Alex said after a long moment, "Did you see anything unusual on this person's hands?"
I was very confused, I didn't understand what was so important about what was on his hands. I responded by saying, "I didn't see his hands they were by his sides the entire time. Why? What's so important about the hands?" At that very moment, Kelly came back in with Amirah and he looked calmed down.
"It's a conversation for a later time," He replied and took Raven off of his lap. He got up and went over to Kelly and began whispering to him. It sounded like he was telling him if he was ok and to get it together.
"You know, I feel like there are way too many secrets around here," I say matter of factly.
