As the last the class of the day ended, Kelly came up to me and said, "I need to talk to you now, somewhere that we won't be overheard." He didn't have his usual smirk on his face. Instead, he had on a dead serious one that I could never have imagined would ever appear on his face.
"Why? What is this about?" I asked, as he grabbed my hand and pulled me away from my locker, "Can I least grab my stuff?"
"You have two minutes, no more," He said, letting go of me and leaning against the wall. I walked over to my locker and began putting my homework in my bag, "There's no need for that, it will just be a waste of space. There's a big chance you're not coming back anyways."
'What?' I thought, but did as I was told. I took out my homework and put in my journals with my stories in them. I had just closed my locker when Kelly said, "Times up!" and grabs my arm again and takes off. As he's pulling me through the crowd, I throw my bag over my shoulder. We exited the school building and walked through the parking lot to the very back where there was a good sized truck with a logo on it that I couldn't make out. "Hop in, " he said.
"Wait you're not going to drive that are you?" I asked.
He shook his head, "Don't be ridiculous! I'm 13! My sister will be driving." I heard a "Arghh!" From the opposite side of the truck I saw none other than Allison, climbing into the front seat. I climbed into the seat next to her and refused to look at her. "Come on, guys. This will be some great bonding time."
Allison gave her brother an 'Are you ridiculous' glare before saying, "Not unless we get to the destination in two minutes."
"If you even think about doing that, I will murder you. It takes at least 10 minutes to get there and if you get us there in two, we would be sure to have cops behind us and that's the one thing we don't need right now," said Kelly.
"Where are we going anyways?" I asked, noticing Allison's foot on the accelerator going faster then slower every once in awhile.
"We can't explain now, just in case we're being watched," Kelly replied. And then I noticed that Kelly wasn't sitting down, he was standing up and it looks like he was on something, "Don't worry about that. It's there for safety precaution," he says.
I looked forward again and noticed that Allison was heading for a brick wall, "What the hell are you doing?" I asked as the accelerator was going up. 75, 80, 90, 100! And as soon as the thing hit 100 we were going through the wall. Wait what? We're going through the wall? Is this right? It sure was. In a matter of seconds we were on the other side and had perfectly landed on a circle that was spray painted on the floor. Allison got out, rolling her eyes at my remark a few seconds ago. Well I'm sorry that I thought we were going to hit it!
"Izzy!" I heard a familiar voice shout and whizzed around to see my old school friend, Alex. We threw our arms around each other and pulled apart.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"The same reason you are." he replied but then seeing the look on Kelly's face, "I mean, we've got a lot to explain. Do you want anything to drink after your thrill ride?"
"Just water, thanks," I said.
"Are you sure? I remember quite well that you loved Strawberry Milk..." He says and I swat him.
"I hate artificial strawberries!" He laughed and raised his hands in surrender. Allison rolled her eyes and went into the kitchen to microwave a bag of popcorn. Alex followed and poured me a glass of water and handed it to me, "Thanks."
We followed Kelly into the living room and sat down, "I'm sorry, Izzy, but I'm afraid we couldn't tell you why you're here because we didn't know who was following us in that car and who was hearing what we were saying. Now that we can, we will. But maybe you should here it from Alex because you know him better and trust him more."
I turn to him and he takes big breath, "We have noticed that you have had some dreams that have come to pass." he began.
"What do you mean come to pass?" I asked.
"I mean that it happened." He replied, "You can see the future."
"You are a Seer, Izzy," said Kelly.
"I'm a what?" I asked.
"A Seer," says Alex, "Is someone who can see future events. But you are more powerful then that. You can past and present events as well, which no other Seer can."
"We've also received intelligence that you can change them," said Kelly.
"I thought I was doing the talking?"
"Well you aren't doing it fast enough," Kelly replied.
"It's gonna take awhile to set in!"
"Maybe she would of had more time to take it all in if someone would have done her job!" Kelly said, glaring at his sister who showed no expression. She just popped another couple handfuls of popcorn in her mouth like this was the best movie she's ever seen.
Alex rolled his eyes and continued, "We have brought you here because we need some help."
"And I'm guessing it's not mental," I muttered under my breath.
"No, it's not mental," said Alex, leaning forward, "For the past 300-400 years those who have died have not gone on to Eternal Peace."
"Ghosts," I said, "But they don't exist."
"That's exactly our point," said Alex, "They're not supposed to. Instead, they are continuing to walk the Earth."
"So, why do you need my help?"
"You can see past events and can change them. With your help, we can figure out what happened to make them not return to their Eternal Peace and fix it."
"But I don't know how to see the past." I replied.
"We have developed a certain injection that can make you fall asleep. While it cannot make you dream something, it can assist your powers," Kelly said.
"So, I'm going to sleep? That's what you need me for? I don't believe this!"
