"You want me to have that-that...traitor  here? In the heart of my territory, my camp?!" Willowstar said menacingly, a glint of fear deep in her moss-green eyes.

Lynxshadow looked up at the Riverclan leader. Petalstorm and Aspenpaw besides her. "Willowstar, I'm not asking you to keep oakstar here, I'm only asking you to keep me and my clan-mates here. I know how much you dislike oakstar, but-"

"No, no." Willowstar's brow furled. "I will keep him here. On one condition. MINTTAIL!" A brown tabby she-cat appeared, seemingly out of no-where. "Go get tanglefur, rapidmoon and brackenleap for me, please." The tabby nodded and stalked off.

"So, your condition, Willowstar?" Petalstorm asked. Willowstar flicked her tail. Wait a moment, then I'll tell you. A couple of elderly cats walked up then.

"Thank you, minttail. Go collect all cats on patrol now please. Now, you three will be sharing the warriors den. We will still treat you as elders, and not expect you to go on patrol, but I need your den for something. I'm sorry, but I'll explain in a heartbeat." Willowstar added when she saw rapidmoon's mouth open to protest. When minttail returned, Willowstar stood up on her rock. "let all cats, riverclan or thunderclan, gather to here my words." A large group ather around the silver she-cat.

"What's going on?" Sparrowpaw asked Aspenpaw. Aspenpaw shrugged in reply.

"We will allow thunderclan to stay in our camp for a quarter moon, and only a quarter moon. I have requested for the elders to share the warriors den for the time being. I want two warriors guarding him at all times. He is not to be trusted. If he try's to escape, I'll allow you to kill him if you must." The Riverclan leader explained. "Minttail will organise guard. For now until sunrise I ask littlespark and snakeleap to guard." The two cats nodded, and bring oakstar to the elders den. Willowstar jumped down from the rock and signalled for Aspenpaw, hawkstorm and Lynxshadow to follow her.

Lynxshadow looked into willowstar's eyes.

"Tell me who I can trust." Willowstar sat down.

"Who to trust is more difficult than who not to trust."

Willowstar nodded to the golden-eyed she-cat. "Very well, tell me who I can't trust."

"Don't trust maplemoss, mooneye, darkclaw, peardawn, kestrelfang...alderclaw and lionclaw." Lynxshadow said.

"Or amberstorm." Aspenpaw added flatly. Lynxshadow looked taken aback for a moment. "Or any of the apprentices."

"Don't trust leafstorm either." Hawkstorm added. Willowstar nodded.

"Very well." Willowstar spoke softly. "Do not tell any  cat I asked you this. You may go back to camp, now. Get a good rest, all of you." Willowstar jumped down a slope next to the group. "Now I must take care of something over in windclan. Tell minttail that she's in charge for a while."

Aspenpaw awoke in a strange place. Tall grey trees stretched upwards, blocking out the sunlight. Aspenpaw looked around confused.

"C'mon Mudpaw, follow me!" Aspenpaw heard a familiar voice

"Wh-where am I?!" Aspenpaw heard Mudpaw say. "I want to go back to riverclan! Or even thunderclan!" Aspenpaw heard the first cat sigh. "Squirrelpaw! Where are we!?"

"The dark forest. I brought you here to train with me." The dark forest?

"But I don't want to be here! I've heard the nursery tales, and I want to go back home."

"Fine, Go! I don't care."

"Fine!" Mudpaw growled. "I'll see you back at camp." Aspenpaw heard mudpaw leave. Suddenly she felt a cold wind behind her, as if she was being stalked like a mouse or a vole.

"Perfect, a new apprentice!" A deep voice growled behind her. Aspenpaw whipped around.

Oakstar!?

"Why have you come here?" The tom continued. No, oakstar dosn't have a scar across his nose. "Do you seek...power?"

"Who are you?" Aspenpaw asked, trying to keep the tremble out of her voice.

"Do you wish to prove yourself?" The tom continued.

"No. Who are you?" Aspenpaw asked again.

The tom rolled his eyes. "I am tigerstar. I was once leader of shadowclan. Before then I was a thunderclan cat." Aspenpaw then noticed that she could see the trunks of the tall trees behind the dusty tom.

"Wait...br-bramblestar w-was your son, wasn't he?" Aspenpaw asked.

"Yes."

"this is the place of no stars?!"

"Yes."

"Leave me alone!" Aspenpaw broke into a sprint away from tigerstar. The next thing she knew, she was somewhere else completely. One small of the fishy scent around told her she was back in the real world. Dawn was still a fair way off. The only cats other than her awake were the camp guards and mudpaw besides her.

Mudpaw!

She shook the sleeping tom to get his attention.

"What d'you want, Squirrelpaw?" He asked sleepily.

"Follow me." Aspenpaw hissed quietly. "I want to see how the rest of camp is." Reluctantly, mudpaw got up and followed her. They walked behind the apprentice den, where they were left to sleep, and silently padded towards thunderclan territory.

"What are you two doing!?" A cat hissed from behind them.
