So you guys know how I felt before I have seen the light, but what did the moment feel after?
In school when my friend and I were done with our very easy projects, we would mess around emailing each other (this was not that long ago and email is still around) and listening to music. The only way I could listen was either threw a single DS earbud or these giant red headphones that I loved. They let the music flow into my head without any escaping. (I had known about the Anthem Lights covers for a few months, and I never bothered to look up to see if they had originals. Sometimes I wondered, but never actually looked up. I have posted of how I re-discovered the 2012 mashup many times, so if you didn't see than I can tell you.)
Flashback: Dancing in my room (supposed to be cleaning but we all know how that goes) to any song on the internet that I was looking up. Mostly Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry... Etc. All of a sudden I remembered this song that I had been trying to remember for a couple of years now. I remembered it was some fancy mashup by some guys. I quickly looked up 2012 mashup I don't know how I remembered the year but I did. I listened to it and loved it. Scrolling down the page there was a 2013 one too. Again loved it. Cover after cover I listened. I kept going back to the 2012 mashup. That one I really liked. I listened to their covers along with other music for a few months then.....
Flash forward again: I was curious to see who this band ACTUALLY was. So I looked up the two words: Anthem Lights. What came up BLEW my mind. What the genera said was CHRISTIAN pop! I was sitting there wide eyed and I was tapping my best friend like crazy like "hey hey hey hey hey HEY" she turned around and I showed her. I loved that reaction on her face. We both loved the band's covers (after I showed her the band she loved them too) and we were both struggling Christians. Now, it all was starting to make since.
Little did we both know that this band... Would change our lives
forever.
