"Where did you run off to ?" Theo asked yet another question.

"I mean, I searched the whole school, well maybe not the whole, but that's not the point. My point is I never saw you." He continued without waiting for a reply. I rolled my eyes for the 50th time since I found him using my sense of smell.

I remember mentioning my eyes turning gold, so I'll explain that.

I'm an ANGEL WOLF.

Hunter's were paid one hundred thousand dollars {$100,000} for every Angel Wolf they could either find or kill. They hunted my kind and forced them to shift so they could rid them of their wings. They couldn't risk one hundred thousand dollars flying away. My kind was ranked strongest of all wolves. We even had a higher ranking than Alphas. We were stronger, faster, more sensitive.

If he or she didn't cooperate, they'd be chained up with silver chains. The chains weren't the weakness, but the purple wolfsbain - the strongest wolfsbain - in which the chains were soaked and covered, were. After an Angel Wolf had been captured, the chances of them escaping were slim, really slim.

After the Angel Wolves were chained, they were brought to THE ORDER. No one knew of The Order's name, voice or looks. Hunter's were giving tasks on a burner phone. Maybe The Order was a figment of someone's imagination. Maybe they aren't. Just incase, all Angel Wolves have to keep a low profile.

"Heelloooooooooo. Lani. Laaaan-"

"What ?" I snapped. Sometimes this boy can get really annoying. Like damn, take it down a notch. We were sat a table in the noisy cafeteria having lunch, which gave him another 15 minutes to annoy me.

"What were you thinking about ? Is it Naughty ? Can I know ?" I tensed at the last question but quickly relaxed , hoping he didn't notice.

"You're awfully quiet." He said frowning a bit.

"I'm fine. Just tired that's all." I replied giving him a small smile. Truth is i'm trying to figure out why I felt a bit hurt by what Jace said. Maybe it's because he's my mate. Maybe not. It's just i'm not used to caring. I got rejected twice.

The mate I got after got killed after it slipped that i'm an Angel Wolf. After that I was the one who kept rejecting. I couldn't afford for anyone else to get hurt because of me. Besides, no one could handle me or everything I came with.

"You zoned out again." Theo pointed out. I rolled my eyes and got up.

"Let's move on shall we. I'm really tempted to go home and bunk right now." We picked up our bags and headed for what I think Theo said was AP English.

I exited the building alongside my bestfriend with my hoodie tied around my waist. Finally ! I get to go get food. I'm so hungry.

"So I'll see you next week." I said after walking him to his car.

"Where are you going ?" He asked.

"Food." I replied walking off.

When I entered the Diner, I spotted Jace and the two boys from this morning in a booth on the left. At the sound of the bell, they turned to look at the door and stared at me.
