Chapter 7 - Incidents

*******After School*******

"So like there's this party later, you think you can make it ?"

I exited the school building with Lijah on my heels. I haven't seen Jace today and it had more of a impact on my mood than I thought it would.

"I don't know." I replied.

"Come on Lani, you're making this harder than it has to be." Lijah whined.

"Fine, I'll go to the stupid party."

"Pick you up at 9:00 ?" He grinned.

"Bye Lijah."

"See you later Lani." He said with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes and began making my way to Theo's house. Just then my phone pinged.

Theo : Wanna Netflix & Chill ????

I smiled as I read his message.

Me : As long as you no touchy touchy, we won't have a problem m'am.

Theo : You do know I only want yo body right ???

Me : You never pay. This shit ain't free. Gotta keep it maintained and all that.

Theo : Girl, you such a gold digger.

Me : Sml. Get the food ready i'm three blocks away.

It never hurts to lie. I turned the corner spotting Theo's house.

It was an architectural beauty. Made out of stone and wood and had large pillars each side of the house; making it four pillars in all. It was painted in white and the pillars were painted in sky blue. It had fat colourful blooms of flowers around the house. It had a couple of rocking chairs and traditional lanterns in bronze on each side of the door.

I rang the doorbell.

"Lani, dear, come on in." Mrs.Heavens swivelled her wheelchair to the side allowing me to enter.

"These are for you Mrs.H." I handed her a box of her favourite donuts, noticing the dark circles under her eyes. Her brown hair was pulled into a neat bun. Showing off the shape of her face and her clothes hung loosely on her body. "How are you feeling today ?"

"My arm has been giving me problems, nothing I haven't handled before." She waved her hand in dismissal. "Theodore's in the kitchen."

"Over here bae." Theo called out.

"He didn't give you a massage today, did he ? That lazy ass. Let's give you one in a few, yeah ?"

She patted my hand and smiled. "You spoil me everytime you come here."

I pushed Mrs.H's wheelchair into the kitchen where T was transferring food from a pot into a big bowl.

"Ma made dinner."

What Theo meant was his mom ordered him around while he cooked.
Due to an accident, his mom lost both her legs. She had full range of motion in both arms, but the right one bothered her quite a bit.

"Sit down Lani. Theodore, give her a plate."

"I won't say no, i'm starving."

"If you want seconds just ask." Mrs.H said.
