venuss pov* lunch comes around and i sit with the boys. we sit their quietly, awkward. "so where's mattia?" i ask. "we went home. he's not feeling good." kairi says "oh." ayonie is in line grabbing her lunch with mar. i look over and roshaun notices. "what's she doing with him?" roshaun asks. "uh don't tell her i told you but i mean it's not secret or anything like that but..." all the boys lean in to listen. "....but this morning i walk into class and see mar siting in my seat and they are literally making out right there in front of me, she even has marks." i say. "she's gotta be careful. mar, well mar is something all right." roshaun adds. "what do you mean?" ale looks at me. "look v, mar is well how should we describe him,..." there was a pause. alejandro was thinking of a word to describe mar. "he liked to get the girls, lead them and leaves them." kairi finishes ales sentence. "yeah that. you have to tell her. she might know or whatever but, you have to be on the lookout for her." ale says. i take out my phone and message mattia.

"fuck mar." said kairi. "huh? what did you say?" i ask. "fuck mar, he can suck my-." kair was stopped by ale. "i don't think you know this but last year kairi dated this girl for about a month. they were secret about it, that why no one really know about them." ale says. "ok and?" "well...her name is anika...and well the first week of kairi and anika being together...kairi heard about a..." kairi was tearing up. "...about a party at some guys house and kairi decided to take anika. kairi invited me to tag along and i had brought my now ex. so i was sober, because i knew kairi would be drunk with his girlfriend and well my then girlfriend didn't know how to drive. i saw anika go into the restroom. she had been in there for a while and soon after i forgot about her, focusing on kairi doing karaoke or what kairi calls it, kairioke. i was in the hallway with emily, my ex and then mar went into the restroom. kairi was looking for anika then. after a while i heard screaming in the restroom and mar came out. the door closed behind him and then locked itself, that's when i heard crying. the door opened to anika crying, shaking uncontrollably. i asked her what happened and she had blood dripping for under her dress. i went into a room, told everyone to get out and told emily to stay with anika, then i went to go get kairi and tell him. i to-..." alejandro paused. the bell had rung. "ale not in front of me please, tell her about it somewhere else." kairi said. he was crying. "kairi." i said. he looked at me, his eyes swollen. i spread my arms out and gave him a hug. he hugged me tightly and then said, "take care of ayonie, mar can hurt her in a blink of an eye venus." i hugged kairi back even tighter...i knew what the end of the story was. without even ending it, i knew. i wanted to cry with kairi, i could just tell him what happened to me...but i couldn't. i walked kairi to class and then stayed with him for the rest of the day, basically ditching my other classes. "hey, wanna come over to mattia house with me? maybe we can go somewhere or just drive around forgetting our worries while singing, yeah?" i ask kairi. "uh...but i don't wan-." i cut kairi off. "want to bother? you aren't bothering." i say. "sure i guess." kairi responds. "ok." the bell rings. it's a three day weekend for us. everyone's running around crazy. we get into the car and i drive to the the mall to pick some stuff up. "you staying or coming with?" i ask kairi. "where you going?" "target and might go to hollister or something." "fine i'll go." kairi gives me a smile. "thank you v, i'm sorry about how we sort of acted towards you and mattia. i-...i guess i should tell you what happened since well yeah." he looks and me then down at his hand. he pulls up his sleeve to show a long scar. "see this? mar cut me. ale had called me and i ran to anika. she was in the room screaming, she was on the floor all bloody. i was sort of buzzed and didn't know what was happening in the moment. it was like a blur. ale got me to understand what was happening. i walked around shoving people looking for mar, that's when i saw him on the couch with like 2 or 3 other girls all over him. i slapped him. he immediately got up and punched me. we took it outside and well i pushed him into the pool and he told a hold of me and pulled me in. i got out and he followed me. he took me down to the floor and we began hitting eachother. i got a hold of mars neck, choking him and he somehow found a broken beer bottle and cut my arm. i started bleeding like crazy. ale stopped the fight before anyone could have gotten really hurt." "wow. and what about anika?" i asked. "she had a hard time after that. she missed so many days of school. we lost touch of eachother and she broke it off. i still love her, i really do. with all my heart i'd do anything for her but i can't see her hurt anymore. she wasn't herself after that. it was my fault. my once i had gotten into the fight with mar. i held her in my arms. emily helped me cover my wound and i cleaned anika up. i'll text her here and there like a hey what's up how are you sort of thing but that's it. she seems happy now and i don't want to ruin that. she deserved the best, she really does." i give kairi a hug and we bother enter target. i grab some mochi, a starbucks gift card and some candies. by the time i get to the self checkout i see kairi talking with two other girls. he has a bag of hot chips and a cherry slush. i go to him and the girls stop what they are doing and look back at him then me several times. kairi looks at me then at one of the girls. one is a short girl with black hair, dyed i suppose, wearing a white teddy bear hoodie and ripped jeans with some slip on vans, and the other is a red head with a white shirt and light blue mom jeans. "mom was asking if chicken was ok for today?" the girls look at me and then one asks, "is he your brother?" i look at him then at the girls. "well an unplanned one." i laugh. "i'm kidding but yes he is." the girls start to burst in tears. both ask for kairis number and he gives it to them and they take off both smiling at eachother. "well?" "what?" "which one do you think is cute?" "shut up v!" kairi pushed me. we both pay for our things and make our way to the new addidas store they had opened at the mall. "woah." both kairi and i say. "it's- it's huge. bro it's like the size of our school." "honestly." i say. i go to the hoodie section and grab a black and white hoodie and buy it. "for mattia huh?" kairi asks. "yessir." we head back into the car and kairi gets notifications from messages. "is it them?" i ask. "i think so." we head off and get to mattias house. kairi is on a call with one of the girls and i ring the door bell. "mattia uhm d-dont you think you should- fuck mattia- go change!" mattia answered the door half naked.
