i got up leaving andrew in the guest bedroom, sleeping. i walk into the restroom and look into the mirror. what a mess. i walk out and check on abi. she's asleep still.
i grab some food a sit back on the couch where kairi is sitting.
"hey olaf, haven't seen you in forever!"
"shut up." kairi giggles.
"who was that guy you were dancing with?" kairi proceeds.
"i don't know...andrew?"
"hm andrew..?"
"andrew davila. why?"
"that andrew...ah ok. just wondering."
"what do you mean by THAT."
"nothing."
"hmm."
there's an akward pause. "sooo." kairi says.
"wait weren't you with the girls you saw at the mall? what happened to them?" i ask.
"they left. they had to go back home."
"oh well at least they came right."
"yeah." kairi sighs.
"hey kairi can i ask you something?"
"what's up?"
"mattia and cynthia aren't a thing right?"
"nooo. they hardly even know each other."
"oh ok" i say.

one week after the party*
i'm at the mall with ayonie buying kairi something since he's turning 17 tomorrow.
i haven't made much contact with him.
"you think kai would like this?" i ask ayonie.

"maybe." she says.
"i'm getting it."
i walk towards the cashier and pay.
"so is kairi having a party or anything?" ayonie asks.
"a friend only group kinda hangout thing."
"oh ok...you going?"
"maybe."
"is it be-." she stops.
"anyways...." i cut her off knowing what she was about to say...not wanting to answer.
she frowns.
i check the time and shit it's 7pm. i forgot i was going to see andrew.
"ayonie im sorry i forgot about andr-."
"it's fine go ahead."
"are you sure you don't want to tag along?"
"no no you guys go...have fun."
ayonie smiles looking down at her shoes then at me.
i felt so bad for her. mar had messed her up.
i hug her tightly then say
"sorry ayonie. see you tomorrow."
she waves goodbye as i make my way out the store.
andrew wanted to go star gazing. something he and his mother would do every weekend and it was something he'd like to do with someone else but didn't know who.
"hey andrew i'm about to pull out of the parking lot i should be there around 7:30?"
"ok see you."
"bye."
"bye."
i hung up the call.
andrew was sweet. he was different. we hung out at school more often. i sort of became a little more distant from the boys.
i was tired. i had been running around the school campus all day and walking around the mall since 3 in the afternoon. i and meant more were soon to be juniors...school was ending in 3 months. and 3 months go by very quickly. i'm nervous, i really am. i know i've said it every year but i don't think ive ever been so nervous to enter another grade than this grade.
it's cold out, the wind blowing, leaves rustling.
i pull up to his house, andrew outside waiting. he has blankets and pillows all set up in the back of his truck. my headlights shine on him as his smile grows.
i open the door and hug andrew.
"finally, i thought you weren't coming, almost out everything away."
"ugh.." i sigh looking at andrew.
he's pretty tall.
"whats wrong?"
"i'm tired."
"oh um are you sure you want to do this then?"
"no i do want to do this."
"ok then."
