Kim Dahyun wasn’t an idiot. She knew that people, even the most well-intentioned, had ulterior motives. So when a woman as rich as Minatozaki Sana wants “get to know her”, Dahyun knows something else is implied there.

Her mind initially goes to sex because that’s the easiest. And if Sana was looking to pursue that kind of relationship with Dahyun, she isn’t exactly opposed to doing so.

But Sana doesn’t seem like that kind of person. If she just wanted sex, there’s plenty of women more experienced than Dahyun.

So was it romance? Dahyun can’t deny how her body buzzed when Sana touched her and how haunting her gaze was. But can Dahyun really afford to be in a relationship at this point in her life? Some days she can’t even afford to eat, let alone date.

But the idea was so tempting.

Dahyun had been staring at her phone screen for days now. They were always glued to a particular contact name and her finger always hovered over the call button. It had been days since Dahyun and Sana met in that Starbucks and while Dahyun had said she would visit Sana, she couldn’t pluck up the courage to do so.

She was currently at home, back from a gruelling day at work. Her boss, Park Jihyo, was a godsend and sent her home early without cutting into her pay-check. Something about “overworking the youth”.

The sun had dipped beyond the horizon long ago and Dahyun missed her chance to meet Sana again. But tomorrow she was pretty much free as it was a public holiday.

It all worked out, so why couldn’t she press that damn button?

Dahyun shut her phone and groaned. Why was this so difficult? Was this how all crushes worked? She had her fair share and none of them were this stressful.

She decided to turn to her one source of clarity: Son Chaeyoung.

“I charge by the minute for my love guru services, Dahyun-ah.” Chaeyoung said solemnly.

Dahyun whined, “Chaeyoung-ah, this is serious!”

“Why? Are you crushing on your professor or something?” She asked.

“No, it’s not like that.” Dahyun said.

“So what’s the problem?” Chaeyoung asked.

“She’s just… so out of my league and I don’t even know why she’s acknowledging my existence.” Dahyun said, “She’s crazy beautiful and so nice and thoughtful and oh my god she’s perfect.”

Dahyun dove into her bed as she groaned and Chaeyoung snorted, saying, “Dude, you’ve got it bad.”

“I know!” Dahyun whined.

“Look, just go with your gut.” Chaeyoung said, “If you really like this girl, just go for it. It’s better to regret what you did rather than what you didn’t do.”

Dahyun huffed, saying, “OK, I gotchu.”

Chaeyoung was about to continue but Dahyun could hear Tzuyu’s voice in the background shouting, “Dinner is ready, tell Dahyun to get laid for once!”

Dahyun rolled her eyes and Chaeyoung snorted. The latter said, “Sorry, Dubu-yah, the wifey calls.”

“You haven’t even proposed yet.” Dahyun said but couldn’t help the smile on her face.

“Exactly: yet.” Chaeyoung said before hanging up.

Dahyun sighed before flopping back onto her bed. Chaeyoung was right — then again, when was she ever wrong? Hearing Chaeyoung say that to her gave Dahyun the confidence she needed to call Sana.
