Uh... Surprise extra chapter! Been juggling this idea around for a while and finally decided to sit down and write it. This will be split into two parts cuz holy shit it turned out to be way longer (and WAY more dramatic) than I expected. Seriously. It gets real. So grab some popcorn and a box of tissues as we journey with our beloved sekai couple for one last time into the near future as they experience a challenging turning point in their relationship. Enjoy!

Things had been duller than usual.

Sehun was sat on his bed, scrolling through a bunch of pictures he had taken at the recent graduation party at their university. He was dressed in a neat black suit while Jongin's was navy blue. He had to admit they looked great. They looked almost the same as they did when they first enrolled in college, only a little more mature than they used to be. Sehun had shorter hair and had grown a little taller, not to mention less awkward. He stopped at the picture of the two of them together, Jongin's arm wrapped around his waist as they leaned into each other intimately. He had a wide smile on his face, as if he was the happiest man on the planet. Sehun had his usual awkward smile on because Lord knew he still had no idea how to smile for pictures. They looked happy together, no doubt about it. It was a challenge sometimes, being so open about their relationship in public, but thankfully the students and teachers at their university were much more accepting and open-minded than they had anticipated. A year ago his lips would have curled up at the seemingly adorable picture. But now...

Now he felt nothing but a gnawing emptiness.

Things used to be exciting, fun, filled with butterflies and new feelings. But as the years dragged on and they got stuck in repetitive routines and dull schedules, things died down. Sehun hated feeling like that... Empty... Incomplete... Like he was missing something so important. Something but he didn't know what it was.

His thoughts took him back to that day just a couple weeks ago. Where everything had really started going downhill. Of course there were signs building up to it but nothing could have prepared him for what came that day. It was like this breaking point that he couldn't come back from.

"I'm so ready to face the world by your side, Sehun."

He recalled Jongin, dressed in that gorgeous navy blue suit, his luscious brown locks brushed to one side. His eyes were a blazing golden and his smile, as dazzling as ever, as if it were made only to be directed at Sehun. The way he stared at him, his eyes radiating with all the love they had built over the last three years. And at that moment he knew that no one would ever love him the way that Jongin did. And yet...

"I love you, Oh Sehun."

He shook his head as if trying to shake the memory away, shutting his laptop screen.

Jongin never did anything wrong. He was the perfect boyfriend, and that never changed.

Summer break was here and he knew he had to do something. Something different, something to break him out of the endless cycle of classes, rehearsals and most importantly the thoughts. To travel somewhere new, somewhere far away.

In the middle of his train of thought, his phone buzzed with a ding. He saw Luhan's name on the top and his lips curled up into a small smile. He was glad they still kept in touch through all those years, even though they never really got to meet since he left.

Hey stranger
Whatcha doin?

Sehun was quick to reply.

Nothing, you?

He waited for a reply but it didn't come. Instead, he was getting a call from the elder.

"Hello?"

"Hey there," Luhan said cheerfully into the phone and Sehun found himself smiling. It had been long since they talked on the phone and he had missed it. "What's up?"

Opposites attract, they said. [SeKai]Where stories live. Discover now
