Percy

"Let's visit the light festival. Maybe we'll run into Leo and Calypso." Annabeth had suggested. And I thought it would be fun. Maybe crack a couple dumb jokes. Maybe talk to Valdez about the tour so far. Maybe get him to make an acid spitting llama for me (get the reference?

Nope.

"Great. Why does trouble happen wherever we go?" I grumbled as I uprooted a fire hydrant with water powers. I controlled the water so that it would spray at the burning ground. It seemed that Mysterio, Spiderman, and Leo all knew what they were doing while attacking the lava monster. I needed to defend the commoners from becoming fried or getting third-degree burn like I nearly did with the telkhines. As for Annabeth....

"This way, people! This way!" she shouted as she led panicked people out the place. Considering she studied architecture, she probably had the powers to predict the collapse of a building, so she assisted people to go through the safest route. I loved her even more (if it was possible) now.

"Rough night, eh?" Leo shouted as he ran by. Calypso was standing on the ground, and she started controlling wind so that Leo had the maneuverability of Spiderman. Leo was flying (now that's a nightmare fuel. Flaming&flying Valdez on the loose. Eek). He sucked heat from lava, tripped the monster, and generally called the lava monster some rude names, although the monster didn't seem to care a bit.

"You have no idea." I answered. I sprayed the water at the ground, trying to cool the lava down. But it was no use. The water in the fire hydrant was not enough. Dam it. I needed more water if I wanted to cool down the ground, especially considering that Leo was the only one able to run around in the fire without getting his feet scorched. (He made a shocking resemblance to the time Maui was running around Teka's arm in his lizard form in Moana.) The commoners, on the other hand....

"Percy! Try to go for the monster!" Annabeth advised. "Everyone is out!"

I looked around, and I could swear that there were SHIELD agents, the cheesy couple from Peter's high school, the girl Peter liked (Annabeth guessed that part right away,) but I aimed for the monster anyway. And I decided to channel a bit of Coach Hedge, because reasons.

"DIIIIIIIE!" I shouted as I shot the fire hydrant water at the lava monster. Mysterio, who was handling the monster, turned around and stared at me strangely (probably. It was hard to tell what he was looking at with the prophecy orb thingy he had as a helmet).

Only, the fire hydrant wasn't the only thing I blew. The pavement cracked as water burst out of the pipes (wow. I'm going to give the entire city a headache). My gut started tugging hard, and pretty soon, I was screaming rather in pain than in defiance. But the fire monster didn't die, despite the fact that he was severely losing the water fight.

Leo

"No plan, just like that?" Calypso muttered, and I was probably the only one who could hear it. She was pressing down the flames and making sure that the fire didn't reach nearby buildings. If that happened, and with the gas pipes, this place would quickly turn into a barbecue.

"Yeah!" I shouted as I darted around, tripping the monster. "Uncle Leo style!"

Calypso grumbled, and I could feel a sudden boost. Was I getting taller? The excitement died as I realized I was only flying.

"You're the only one who can touch the monster without getting a third degree burn." Calypso said. "So knock it down or something. Immobilize it."

"Wow. You're actually trusting me on something." I said. I lunged at the lava monster. Only, it wasn't there. I fell right through it. What the heck?
